I miss the old Eastern European players in the 80’s and 90’s… they would light you up on the court and use timeouts for cigarette breaks and start vodka chasers at halftime.
Someone should get all SAW and get him gastric bypass when he is knocked out and watch the hilarity ensue as Chet goes Karen Carpenter before the all star break.
Chet doesn’t care…. I hope he shows up in a pair of buffs, a bear fur coat and skirt to the next post game conference
Utah might have fielded the sorriest roster I have seen in the summer league. There is literally only one drafted player in the starting lineup, and that's Jared Butler, who is a 40th pick. I thought Chet looked good tonight, but I reckon a college team would have been more competitive. At least there is some form of cohesion and coaching.
That is simply not true. Paolo has initiated the most offense out of any of the top 3. If you need someone to create offense and you have these three players, you go to Paolo. Paolo can dribble, pass and create seperation ffor a good shot better than Chet or Jabari. That doesn't mean he will be the best player. Paolo looks like a star - not a superstar. Chet might very well be a superstar one day. And Smith? there is little doubt he will be a great 3&D player - if he learns to create better shots for himself and others he has superstar potential as well.
I just don't see Paolo being that guy in the NBA, or a better creator/passer on offense than Chet, but time will tell.
We destroyed our draft and that’s pretty much the consensus everywhere. Now I wanted to get a little greedy and get a second to go get Liddell but that’s just me
One thing I think that also heavily played into OKC getting Chet is for some strange reason, Chet has WANTED to go to OKC. I'm not sure why that is, why anyone would want to play for OKC but I'm sure that all but locked Chet there. I think when you are a small franchise like that you have to consider if the guy is going to want to play there for the rest of their careers or are you drafting a player that's going to bolt to Miami or LA as fast as possible.
Just like last year between Mobley, Green, and Cade we have this year with Paolo, Chet, and Jabari…. They are ALL going to be great. No use whining about wish we had this guy over that one. Be damn thankful we got two of them. Which will be a true top 5 elite lead you to a ring LeBron, Kawhi, Curry, Giannis level talent? All we can do is wait and see. But my money is on Green.
I think all 3 players went to their perfect destinations. 4 if you count Murray. Chet looks like he will thrive being the focal point in OKC. Here he would've been relegated to "be tall" duty like he was at Gonzaga. Ditto for Paolo who has a lot of good defenders around him but no real creator. Jabari is the ultimate floor stretcher for Green and KPJ while being a stupid good kickout threat for Al-P. Jabari will have an 8+ 3PM (Klay) game this season and the pendulum will swing in his direction. Paolo will have a triple double and the same will happen.
I agree. Green just has that "it" factor IMO. Hoping to see him have the same/similar sophomore year like Ant did
I knew Chet would be great. I also think Paolo and Jabari will be great, and this time around we got a great fit and a great player in Jabari. Love the youth in the NBA right now, the old guys are starting to be boring anyways. It could have something to do with the fact that we suck as a franchise and nothing happens to us once the playoffs roll around but the NBA future is looking good talent wise.
Okay we watched Chet destroy the giants, tonights test is also a very interesting one. For some reason, the Grizzles have Xavier Tillman in the G-League. A 6'8 250 C who is very strong and agile. He started half of the Grizz games in the playoffs and guarded Towns very well. Totally different profile from Cockburn and Tacko. Excited to watch the matchup
