I just dont see "it" with Cade. He's like better Josh Giddey moreso than he is Luka-lite. I'd put him comfortably behind Green and Mobley in a redraft and probably behind Barnes at the moment. Ivey looks like a player though.
How I've always felt about Cade. He's like a top 20 player in his prime but I don't feel he can become a top 5 player. I guess time will tell. He's still going to be goodl, multi time all-star but not like a MVP candidate good.
Yeah I think he'll end up like Donovan Mitchell. Multi All Star who isn't good enough to be the best player on a championship level team. Luckily for Detroit, Ivey might turn out to be that guy. Issue is that they're both bad defensively. Cade as average and Ivey is downright bad.
Looks as if Ivey may supplant Cade some day. Cade seems to lack the speed to get to his spots and doesn't have a big enough bag to be a force yet. Maybe he comes along slow but I expect Green, Mobley, and Scottie to continue on where they left off last season. Ivey looks special.
a "better" Josh Giddey? Did you mean shorter? If neither one of them can shoot, then Giddey is at least actually 6'8 (Cade has at least 3 inches of fro counting towards his height), and Giddey seems to have superior court vision, and may have more room to grow his overall game. I dunno, maybe Cade finds his jumpshot from college again one day?
meh Cade didn’t play well, so the “I don’t see it with Cade” or “I never thought Cade would be that good” type posts are incredibly predictable I’ve seen that plot so many times
to me, it’s no different than some fan of another team who’s rarely seen Jalen Green play say they don’t see “it” from him after watching him in our 1st preseason game the other day
