He's on the "new media" planet. People love hot takes, he knows sports is an entertainment. Anyways, here he just wants to stay confident, that's all.
I hope the Warriors never recover from this and go on to lose in embarrassing fashion the rest of the way Actually, you know what? I hope their individual careers never recover from this on some Nick Anderson type ****
I thought Celtics size could give the Warriors trouble and it doesn't hurt that they have offensive balance.
In a series like this that, should, Be a very even matchup. Stealing a game like this is what wins the series and gets remembered. Let's see if the celts can pull it out.
lol at Sengun slander in this thread! you really think we could win in the playoffs with Steph Silas coaching whoever? lolololol 100% convinced, delete what lucas and silas have 'taught' him, and just put sengun TODAY on the celtics squad or gsw squad and he tips the balance of the series...
The NBA Finals records for winning the first game is misleading because they changed the format from 2-2-1-1-1 to 2-3-2 for about 30 years before going back to 2-2-1-1-1.
The Celtics really took over when Brown realized this wasn't the heat guarding him anymore. He can get to the rack at will against their guards. The Warriors like to dare teams to win with their second or third options. The Celtics need to prepared to do this the whole series. Don't try to force it with Tatum if he has Green or Wiggins on him. Just let the other guys blow past Steph/Poole/Looney etc Individual defense and switchability has basically been the central theme of these playoffs. You're watching these playoffs and think Sengun could guard these teams ??
I thought the Celtics lost the game in that minute or two stretch in the first quarter where they lost Curry on two wiiiide open 3s that he knocked down, getting him in a rhythm. You don't make those mental lapses against the Warriors and win. Add to that the little spurt in the third where the Warriors make their patented run which causes the other team to play frantic and bad offense - which the Celtics did for a little bit. I was shocked they won. So very, very, very happy though.
I have to admit that felt pretty good. Kerr made me laugh at the end of the 4th quarter...in the huddle he told his team "We down by 3 at home...right where we want to be!" Or something like that. Glass half-full approach I guess.
Yeah, as I mentioned, Celtics are more battle-tested and are no joke. Normally, you lose this kind of first game I'd say the series is over...but I still think the Celtics win in 7 and this is a long grueling and exciting series. Both teams are very mentally strong, both can play elite team defense, and both have guys that can go get clutch buckets. Strap in.
They shot lights out. This thing is far from over man. Too much experience for the Warriors to be shook.
All true, but I also don't expect Tatum to no-show, again. Dude looked nervous from minute 1, and it carried through for the rest of the game.
