For the record Paolo Banchero weighed 235lbs in high school. https://fanbuzz.com/high-school/paolo-banchero-recruiting/ Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Leonard Miller has looked completely lost Youngest player in draft, but man he hasn't looked like he knows the sport.
When did the NBA switch to calling it a "Scouting Combine" - back in the aughts, we called it the Pre Draft Camp. It was at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Unclear why.
First Option: J.Smith Second Option: Banchero Fourth Option: Ivey Third Option: Sharpe Not on the Chet bandwagon yet...need to see how he plays against his peers at the combine.
Well yeah when you on the top the only way is down. Tbh I hope NBA mandates every single player who declares attends the draft combine. Its kinda dumb franchises dont know the measurements of top players they are drafting thats why people thought Cade was 6'8 til SL started.
Right, measurements should be mandatory. I can understand testing (even though it supposed verticals are true I would personally test)
Yeah. If I were the Rox FO I'd get some of the analytics people or hire some outside data scientists to eletronically get their measurements by using their shoes or w/e. Like if they are wearing Kobe get those shoes measurements online and then use that as scale to determine their real height and measurements. Do thst simulation 100 times you prob come up with accurste measurements.
He has plenty current work out vids on his Twitter feed that still shows of the same athleticism he had 2 years ago.
That’s what I’ve been thinking. I know you don’t draft based on work outs but man! He looks like a bigger more athletic Cade. He covers so much ground, can get to the rim from the 3 point line in 2 steps etc.
If you watch the dunk contest and see the dude fail 30 times before he completes the dunk will you still give him a 10? In real game situations you only get one chance to do your thing and dunk the ball, get the reb, block the shot w/e. You cant tell everyone oh wait man I slipped lemme do it again. But personally I dont put much stock in these drills and tests cuz players can game them anyway. Like Corey Kispert smashed his draft combine tests then he comes to the NBA and cant get separation on his man and cant guard anybody on the perimeter. I only check draft combine for messurements and the scrimmage to see which players added more tools in their bag. I find that kiss the rim video of Banchero more impressive than his curated vert jump results from Duke. If they were objective they would record all those attempts and the average of that would be his "real" vert.
I hope so. If he goes 1 Rox are taking home Jabari. Trade into top 15 to get Eason, get a playmaker and hell, maybe we dont need Wemby afterall.
