If that takes the luster off of the feat for you thats cool. I'd think that after jumping a bunch you would get tired and not hit your max, but thats just me. What do I know?

I wonder how many times it would take Chet to hit 41" on the vert bar? Not that he needs to or anything, but Paolo being 2 inches shorter and 45lbs heavier at the time doing it is nothing short of amazing for me.

It shows they’re afraid to show their weaknesses imo.
This has only started within last 5 years or so

It doesn't diminish the feat. If you can hit a 41 inch vertical, then you can hit a 41 in vertical. I'm just saying it may not be an apples to apples comparison if the NBA combine guys only get a couple of attempts. At their age, these guys can jump for a long time without diminishing returns...some attempts just feel better than others, could be the first, could be the twentieth.

I mean you can even hear the gasps from his own teammates as Paolo is getting up there. Not sure they expected that kind of explosiveness. Should bode well for the "athleticism" concerns. If a guy can hit 41" then its pretty safe to say he could get up there on one or two tries and even if its reduced - a guy that size jumping 35" + is just wild.

I don’t think it’s likely Mark Williams sleeps on a twin size bed

I don't care Banchero vertical is 31" or 41". I'm more concern on his effort on defense. If we are 35 wins team I will take Murray over him (this is assume Wood remain on the team). He is better fit. His weakness is his ball handling. It's no doubt Banchero has higher potential to be star. We are rebuilding, We are still looking for star, so it's still draft best potential possible.

Are you saying you would use the 3rd pick on Murray? or are you suggesting we trade down to draft Murray but also acquire an additional asset or two? I like Murray but not "with the 3rd pick in the NBA draft..." like him

Do you actually know if Murray's effort on defense is better than Banchero's?

Didn't Green have some questions about defensive effort leading up to the draft?

Most young guys have questions about defensive effort, 3 of the top 5 prospects in this year's draft have them, so would you pass on those other 3 guys?

I'm saying we are rebuilding not drafting for fit. Take best available. It's going to be one of Chet/Jabari/Paolo.

Gotcha I thought you were suggesting we take Murray but now I see the 35-win piece. Thank you for the clarification!

Murray defense effort is lot better than Banchero in the tournament. There was time Banchero just stand there and not doing anything. Green has the problem too. Stand there and ball watching. There is no anticipate on cut or pass. I know young players have the problem which is why you just draft best available and hope they can improve. We aren't where we need to worry about those things.

    If you say so.

I am sure you watched every play on defense from Banchero and Murray.
