The tandem of him and Eason is gonna be a joy to watch after the recent garbage defensive effort we have seen. I think Tate will be outstanding this season defensively as well.

Defense is a team mentality, and this team didn't have even a little bit of it the last 2 seasons. Guys like Green and Sengun will benefit from it a ton.

Kinda sad 2 see that a 19 yr old can set better pick and play real perimeter defense unlike former Rockets franchise player wood.

While I agree that Wood's defense was ass, he was never intended to be our franchise player. We brought him in for Harden, not to be the best player on our team.

Man... wait until Bari figures out that if he pump fakes, defenders closing in will almost always bite due to how good a shooter he is.

    Length refers to wingspan.

Mobley wingspan is 7'5 while Jabari is 7'1.

So are we all locked in on the Lock Smith? Way better than Agent Smith

It this happens he could end up playing alot of center.

I'm so pumped about Jabari. Based on a lot of scouting I've read I was really worried about him being able to finish at the rim, but that's not a problem at all, he's really smooth there. His only real weakness is his handles and dribble, which will make it hard for him to create, but if you set him up to where he doesn't need to be the creator on offense (and he won't on our team), he's an insanely valuable player. Being able to shoot at a super high clip and he has the speed to cut, and seems like he'll be solid at offensive rebounds and high effort all around.

Combine that with being an elite defender though and that's so valuable. I'm much more convinced after these summer league games he can play the 5 against most teams, I'd only be worried about a couple centers against him and those guys are knocking down nearly anyone anyway, and that opens up so many possibilities. We could absolutely dominate any small ball team with him at the 5. Creates so much versatility. Throw in Tari too and I'm so excited for the defense.

I also think he will excel with Sengun. He'll cover some of Sengun's defensive woes, but also he'll be a great compliment to Sengun's passing, he seems actually pretty good at cutting to the rim which will be big not to mention if you can find him open at the 3.

I'm pumped about this guy, and really all 3 draft selections. We'll have a ton of versatility defensively which I think will open us up to a lot more line-ups. I generally go with the philosophy that you shouldn't have more than 1 guy on the floor who can't space the floor, and Jabari being so switchable and able to defend 1-5 will help so much with who can slot in that one slot. And shoot, maybe we have 5 floor spacers down and open up TONS of room for Jalen, that's exciting too

Also, if he gets the handles down, and IMO that's way easier to develop than some of the other stuff he already has, he could be KD level good.

Honestly , for me, I value LockSmiths defense jsut as much as his offense. we needed somebody like him Who can transform the defense of this core. He’s a pro typical forward in his size and height

You should. I mean guys like Ben Simmons and Rudy Gobert got max contracts off their defense with limited offensive games, and Jabari is a better offensive prospect than either of them. That's special

Doesn't a locksmith open locks? Don't we want Smith locking people down instead of freeing them?

Scythe Smith is a better option because he'll be cutting people down like the Grim Reaper.
