You got the answer in the second half yesterday...after he couldn't miss in the first half, he only got two shots in the second half! The Silas/KPJ special.
At the end of the day it's up to him to hit the jump shots. His issues are no the same as Green's. It's literally make jump shots look like a God, miss all his jump shots look like crap. Hopefully he can remember the mechanics of his makes
Consistency will come with time and effort. He seems to have the right work ethic to get it done, just needs more reps. Most intriguing part of his game for me is that little turn-around jumper in the high post. That's going to be the key if he wants to go from very good to great. The strength to bang in the paint and pick up more rebounds and the shooting consistency will take care of themselves as long as he just keeps working.
He's playing great and looking like who I envisioned when we drafted him. If he keeps it up/keeps getting better he's going to be an elite player in this league for many years. Frustrating that after his first half he touched the ball like 3 times in the entire second half... smh.
Just like Jalen when he was a rookie, I think Bari didn't know where to get his shots. in this trash ass offense you have to find them because no one is about to set you up for shots where you feel comfortable. and there are no plays to warm you up or get you in a rhythm.
Looking at how Jabari's played recently, it's hard to fathom that he went 9-53 in January for a scorching 17%. What's more realistic? One of the best jump shooters in college basketball forgets how to shoot. Teenage rookie struggles to find consistency on the worst team in the league.
This has been my stance the entire time. I have faith because of his body of work, not his struggles as a rookie on a terrible team behind a terrible coach.
Bari made this bucket happen by setting the screen and because he was on fire. also Silas has no plays, lol
That was NOT what EuroBasket was proposing. He was proposing that Jabari sets screen and Sengun stays closer to the rim. Notice how completely free of congestion the paint was there? That doesn't happen if Sengun is in the game.
Silas trial by fire. The rookies are forced to figure things out themselves and handle the adversity. If they overcome it they become stronger, better players.
It should be noted...good on him for never giving up. Might seem lame to say but some busts have a history of starting to think they don't belong and just spiral into suckitude. So, it's good he has these games to look back on when he eventually starts slumping again, just so he always knows he's capable of playing better.
First 19 yr old Rox rookie since Dream to go 20/10 in three consecutive games... Yeah I'm fine with the 3rd pk.
Actually he is the only 19 year old rookie to ever do it on any team ever. (Was conversation last nite that Moses Malone may have likely done it with ABA stats) Hakeem did it as well he just wasn’t 19 at the time.
This is a fact, but there is no reason why it has to be. Silas needs to enable Sengun to shoot threes immediately.
