Ceiling was borderline All Star eventually who is going to get a 20+ million contract some day. To achieve that he has to shoot lights out and defend consistently well. It didn't look good so far.
Man Bari, you got to get out of your own head. Huge supporter, but damn. Quit forcing it. Focus on D. Use your length and BBIQ to score inside. The 3 will most definitely come in time. Things will slow down just like they have for many of the best ever. An easy 2 here and there is better than going 1-6 from three. If it's not falling just scrap...
His driving and finishing has improved greatly.. and he’s getting to FT line… but on any jumpshot he is measuring… All Star break will do him a lot of good to get in gym and relax. He would benefit better with a vet PG and better spacing …he can’t fly like KMJ and body not as strong as Eason yet
It's almost mean picking a player that has no skills whatsoever to be in the All Star game skills challenge. I swear they are doing this for comedy.
I just saw on the Houston Rockets YouTube channel that Jabari is gonna be in the Skills Challenge nah, this a setup
It's astounding how folks can see that we have a sht coach, no real offense system, no vet for guidance or vets willing to play for us and lacking a pg. Yet the same folks ignore these factors contributing to our rookie struggles in the league and come to the simple conclusion he just sucks. Giving up on the youngster due to impatience, rooting for him to b sht so u can gloat and then proceed to btch/complain about us sucking. Weird fans
Utah no names and the Greek fam. I think they tried to be smart here but it is obvious they want the host city with 2 guards to win. Bari, Paolo, Ivey that is a big name combo even if they fail.
LOL! First Jalen was clowned during last year's dunk contest, and now Jabari in the skills challenge? My goodness. Rockets are about to be the laughing stock of the league (if they aren't already)
I'm aware of all the factors you mention, and I am far from giving up on a 19 year old Jabari. But it's also a fact that he keeps bricking wide open shots, while taking a lot of them, and that his defense hasn't been as effective as previously advertised. I think the effort is mostly there on defense (in contrast to Jalen and KPJ and of course Nix), but he seems out of position quite a bit, gets pushed away relatively easily and seems to stay very low in his (good) defensive stance for too long quite often, only for people to then shoot over him, despite his height. It's entirely possible to both be aware that we have the worst coach in the league and to see that Jabari's FG % is historically bad for a top 3 pick (second worst FG % of a top three pick this century, 68th out of 69). A lot of those shots are actually uncontested. He needs to get proper coaching, and hopefully he can make a big jump from year 1 to year 2. Also, he should show some more humility and talk less, and certainly talk back less at his teammates, until that happens.
this is a conspiracy for real might as well have Sengun in the 3 point competition too they’re tryna embarrass our guys in front of millions…Jabari still moves like a newborn baby deer with the ball in his hands, and he can’t shoot…if he does manage to dribble and pass his way through, he’s gonna miss all the shots my only advice to Jabari is
Have they ever had it with teams in the Skills competition? Usually it's 6 players going against each other 1 on 1. This might be where one dribbles, passes and one shoots. All 3 in on the sequence.... Too bad Jabari can't dribble, pass or shoot. or It's just best time out of the teams wins.
