Cmon, KD was way more dynamic and versatile than Jabari, even in college. He was always known to be a big guy with guard skills and attacked the rim a ton.
Ray Allen, KD, come the **** on. Otto Porter Jr is a more accurate comp. Congrats @steddinotayto the OPJ movement got our guy. Jabari’s handles are closer to Hasheem Thabeet than Durant or Ray Allen at this point. You guys are selling yourselves snake oil.
practice court just looks so sorry…dudes can barely shoot a corner three without hitting the wall that 4 point line holding on for dear life to squeeze onto the court
Smith joins elite company from a statistical perspective. He’s one of three players in NCAA history to rack up 7 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal per game while making 75 3-pointers at above a 40% clip: he, Shane Battier and Kevin Durant. The rare combination of traits — defensive impact, high-volume shooting, rebounding and size — almost guarantees that Smith won’t fail as an NBA player.
Jerami Grant should be his floor. I preferred Chet but I'm hyped for Jabari. Rockets spacing will be HUGE. Imagine if Wood was still on team, Green and KPJ would have driving lanes the width of freeways.
His game does have shades of 19 year old Ray Allen's at UConn, Repost from earlier in the year: "So trying to pay more attention to draft prospects. Looking at Smith, I see a player who can shoot and reminded me of shades of college Ray Allen. If someone has a better comp please share film, but I thought what would Ray Allen play like if he was 6'10? He would be setting screens as a big, rebounding more, less playmaking/passing or coming off curls. You don't need to see the whole video for time, but here is Ray Allen at UConn age 19: I'm not saying he's going to be Allen as no one can predict the draft, but I see shades there. Again if someone has a better comp let me know."
3-D guys are supposed to be advance ball handlers now? 3 stands for 3P% and D stands for defense. Not dribbling.
I just think if you have a top 3 pick you don't draft a player who potential is "role player" but I do see he could become a 6'10 Klay Thompson and that is the goal or a LaMarcus Aldridge, now I really think we need victor Wembanyama so we can have a second go to scorer who don't need others to create for him.
Green and KPJ are the go to scorers. And fyi, I believe Bari will average more PPG than Banchero. I'd rather have a player who was ELITE shooter and near elite defender than a guy who is jack of all trades offensively and below average to average defensively. Rockets had an amazing draft.
Dude isn’t even old enough to buy a beer, he’ll improve his game man He’ll come right in defending and firing 3’s, he’ll work on his dribble drives
