Jabari didn't shoot well but I thought he was our best today ... Why don't we test Jabari/Segun pick and pops with Jalen cutting? Why don't we run more Smith/Green pick and pops? Why don't we try anything different? ?
I had to put some users on ignore over this, the amount of revisionist history for Jabari comparisons is unreal on this board. Feel like Houston fans barely watch other teams or players.
Yea but that goes without saying. I can’t tell you the number of times I posted here and said nice game but wish he would have picked up the shooting
Valenciunas still had his way with Bruno. The lack of a defensive big was a gaping whole from last year that Stone didn't resolve. They are hoping to develop Sengun into that, but he's more of a playmaker that benefits the offense. I hope we get Wemby next year and the Rockets see the value of a Smith, Sengun, Wemby starting lineup.
Jabari has the right demeanor. Build around him. Ship Jalen and KPJ off so they can go twin together somewhere else.
Because doing the same thing over n over solidifies the tanking/insanity If they were to try something new as you mention it may actually work and upset the tank balance
Wonder how he'd feel if Alpie would yell the exact same thing after "Jabroni" bricks another open 3-pointer on the fast break or fumbles the ball out of bounds again?! Look I'm all for being a "dawg" but kid's done WAAAY too little to be talking mess like that about/to one of his teammates like that! ESPECIALLY someone 10 times as skilled as he is!!! SLOW your Roll and KNOW your role youngster!
lol at more. he's no different than Jabari. Both have accomplished next to nothing in this league All that seniority nonsense is irrelevant to both at this stage. EG is literally the only player on the roster that can pull that card.
WRONG!!! One is a SECOND year player that had a decent rookie season and before that was the mvp of a top 3-5 b-ball league in the world versus a ROOKIE whose biggest claim to fame is that he's shot like 30 something percent from 2's wherever he's been, shoots sub-par for a GUARD much less a big man at the rim and whose 1 claimable skill (outside shooting) he's been subpar to horrid at so far! Yeah no difference there!
nobody gets seniority for a 2nd year player who has proved nothing. yeah there is no difference. that's why jabari can tell his ass to go to the bench lol
Worth noting, getting "beat up" by bigs like Jonas, Nurkic, Adams, etc. should be almost ZERO on the list of things to be concerned about. In fact, I'd prefer that than the alternative, which is the actual GREAT players on those teams going off, as they do everytime against us. If it was me, my entire gameplan last night would have been to funnel the ball to Jonas and let him go one on one vs ourbigs. That doesn't ignore the fact that the type of interior defense to be concerned about - verticality - is definitely an issue with Sengun absent strong weak side blocks.
Agree with the sentiment but the difference is Jabari is just a role player. Banchero IS the offence. Much harder for Jabari to get shots and if he forces it it will be uglier than it currently is.
