You don’t find it the least bit ironic that there are posters here who at first thought he was the best prospect and those same people then said that we already knew he was raw. Some of those very same people are now claiming they told you so all along after proclaiming he was raw. LOL. It’s just hilarious to me. I’m liking what Bari is bringing to the team he’s gonna be great in time. I’d still take Banchero without question but that is immaterial. We never had a chance
Shooters shoot, I think he's finally feeling comfortable with his jumper in the NBA distance and rhythm.
Why the need to get another coach? Rox have the same record as other developing teams like magic, Pistons, OKC, Spurs etc. When you consider Rox are the only team without a playmaker and they are youngest with the most amount of young prospects Silas has done a hell of s job.
That was the best offensive game by Jabari so far. (And also, the best win by the Rockets this season.) He's getting good at recognizing mismatches in the paint and taking advantage against smaller players. And when he was met by a bigger player, I loved how he didn't panic. He made a series of fakes right out of Sengun's playbook before putting up the shot. Little by little, he's adding to his bag of offensive tricks.
People said he was the most plug and play player - mainly because people thought he could instantly help on defense and hit his threes. How can he still be raw? Because his dribbling, 2pt-shots and passing were subpar in college and he hasn’t filled out his body yet. He was overwhelmed on defense and shot horribly at the start of the season - that may have been unexpected, but I do believe you need to give 19 year old rookies at least some time. The Jabari of the last 10 games is the one I expected. Raw on some aspects of his game, great shooter and great defender. I expect him to continue to work on the other aspects of his game. Most people always expected Paolo to be the most NBA ready, complete player. I think he plays even a lot better than that. Mathurin is also exceeding expectations, and Ivey has at least hit his expectations. Still Jabari is on track to become the player, most people expected.
Seems to be some overall better execution by the team that is trickling down. Jabari is definitely a big part of that since he's playing like the connective tissue of the team while getting a better feel of what/when is a good shot.
Jabari is going to be that player who is the reason the Rockets win a ton of games while Jalen gets the credit. Similar to Klay Thompson to his Steph Similar to Chris Bosh to Lebron/Dwade Similar to Kris Middleton to Giannis. Can’t wait to see the future of this team.
The floor on Smith is quite easy to project at this point. -Above average rebounder -37-40 on three point percentage -Above average to elite switch defender -Above average mid range shooter. -Above average to elite in non switching defenses while being able to play on perimeter or inside. -Above average to elite help shot blocker. -Handle, 2 point shot, creating for others, ability as a roll man all probably below average. His ceiling is crazy but is dependent on improvjng massively on those fronts.
He got to the free throw line nine times and attacked the rim, shooting almost 86% free throws. Love to see it
A switchable big that should become an exceptional 3 point shooter over time. Who TF needs that on a team??
