Put me in the "meh" camp as it pertains to Victor. I'm weary of players of that size. If we get #1 then yeah I guess you draft Victor but he doesn't really scream "Lebron" level of talent to me. Another tall guy that can run and chew gum at the same time.

I'd be more pumped at the thought of Scoot/Jalen/Tari/Jabari/Sengun. That's a hell of a modern NBA offense. Looking more likely that Garuba isn't going to pan out so find another defensive stalwart like Duren to back up Sengun and were gravy. Or grab Victor and put Tyty in the starter spot after KPj melts down again.

Stone just needs to add Myles Turner and Matisse Thybulle to make team absolutely ELITE on defensive side of the ball.

Thank you for this post! I'm not sure if I deserve this much credit haha.

I wasn't the first one to point him out. I just saw that he was very undervalued due to his poor shooting 1st year, lack of left hand (which we don't care about), and poor decision making on offense, which hopefully we can minimize. Needless to say, I couldn't believe he was available at 17 and it's even crazier we got 2 players that fit our team perfectly.

2 great prospect threads in consecutive drafts.

This is what the guard play should look like.

hes going to be good. hopefully he adds something little to his game each year instead. dare i say kawhi-esque vibes from this guy?

also tate could be the PERFECT person to learn from. imagine adding some of Tate's footwork offensively to Tari's game.

I'm not one to over react about Summer League play but I've been pleasantly surprised with Eason.

Here's to hoping he lives up the the legacy Mario set for wearing the #17 in H-Town.

Blessed that Sengun, Tari and Tyty fell to us where they did.

I think he will be a steal at 17, no doubt. I think Duren is going to be “The Steal” of the draft. The Knicks are incredibly stupid organization.

The old adage is true when it comes to anything : trust your gut. Numbers be damned. Had people up through the draft process using #s to say Tari was going to be bad. The kid just makes plays. You can't get that from box score watching. He did it at LSU and he's doing it now. You can't teach his tenaciousness or his baseball gloves for hands. If there's a loose ball, he's going to come up with it.

Can't believe he fell to 17. He's looked miles more impactful than others taken before him. Dieng, Davis, Sharpe, Williams just to name a few.

Uh, we're the Houston Rockets. We might have a guy who would be a wee bit better than Tate at teaching post moves.
