Every time I see one of Abbott’s commercials I feel like Joe Biden is running for governor instead of Beto.

I don't know why anyone who isn't a billionaire would vote Republican. Seriously, do you want them taking and taking and taking to make themselves richer or to have power?

If the Republican party will push for a candidate that has lied his entire life, treated women and his kids badly, and is not very bright, to make decisions that affect everyone in this country, then I can't trust the decision makers of the party. As if Margorie Taylor Green, Lauren Boebert, and Matt Gaetz weren't bad enough, they want to add another nutjob to the party. Seriously, that's the best they can find to be in positions so important? Half-wit yes men. That's all they are. Seriously, what the hell has become of the GOP party? It's full of crazy, half-wits and hypocrites, just spouting out propaganda and lies. How can you believe anything they say when they don't practice what they preach? What does it say about Republican voters if they actually vote for these types?

I read in the Chronicle that Mr. Golden Nugget Tillman has donated $700,000 to Abbott's campaign. Just another billionaire who wants to keep things going his way, and doesn't care what a pathetic governor Abbott has been.

That's how the GOP works. The Politicians are paid by the rich to delude the poor and ignorant into voting for whatever hot-button anger issue is out there.

    It's capitalism distilled.

    A Utah surprise?

Lee is an election denier and Big Lie promoter. Perchance that is politically hurting him?

Listening to Evan McMullin on Meet The Press who is running for Senate in Utah as an indpendent. He has an outside chance of upsetting Mike Lee. He's pledging if he wins he won't caucus with either party which most likely means he won't cast a vote for majority leader but it also might mean he doesn't get any committee assignments as it's the majority leader that assigns those.

In general I've been impressed with Evan McMullin but this might seriously handicap what he can do as a Senator.

Latest polling is showing that the generic ballot is swinging Republicans way with 49% -45% advantage in the generic ballot. The economy appears to be the biggest issue also with younger voter turnout appearing to be anemic.

Republicans Gain Edge as Voters Worry About Economy, Times/Siena Poll Finds
With elections next month, independents, especially women, are swinging to the G.O.P. despite Democrats’ focus on abortion rights. Disapproval of President Biden seems to be hurting his party.

Republicans enter the final weeks of the contest for control of Congress with a narrow but distinctive advantage as the economy and inflation have surged as the dominant concerns, giving the party momentum to take back power from Democrats in next month’s midterm elections, a New York Times/Siena College poll has found.

The poll shows that 49 percent of likely voters said they planned to vote for a Republican to represent them in Congress on Nov. 8, compared with 45 percent who planned to vote for a Democrat. The result represents an improvement for Republicans since September, when Democrats held a one-point edge among likely voters in the last Times/Siena poll. (The October poll’s unrounded margin is closer to three points, not the four points that the rounded figures imply.)

With inflation unrelenting and the stock market steadily on the decline, the share of likely voters who said economic concerns were the most important issues facing America has leaped since July, to 44 percent from 36 percent — far higher than any other issue. And voters most concerned with the economy favored Republicans overwhelmingly, by more than a two-to-one margin.

Cool so the owner of our favorite team in professional supports is basically an election denier anti Democracy grifter. How as a Rockets fan do we deal with this?

Don’t be absurd. The only thing Billionaires care about is money. He’s in it for the tax cuts.

Billionaires like that care more about themselves than anyone else. Screw the rest. Morals aside for a buck.

I know and I don't think for a second that Tillfart wouldn't vote pro-insurrection if he thought he could make a buck for himself every day of the week. However I don't know how he thinks he can get away with it as a professional sports owner where you'd think he'd want the fans of the team, and the people who actually spend money on basketball to think he is a half-way decent human being.

I guess not, but my question is what can you do as a sports fan to show the owner you think he's a POS? Other than not go to his crappy restaurants which I don't anyways cause they suck, what could Rockets fans actually do?

I don't know. I don't go to his restaurants, but still want to cheer our team. Those guys can't help it if their owner is a MAGA man. They deserve our support.

At the moment the Tillman isn't putting a product on the court that is really worth paying a lot of attention to.

Also, he probably isn't unlike most NBA owners. They do seem to fit a certain profile of rich white men.

I miss Les. The dude was a goofy weirdo and far from perfect (see courting Chinese money via Yao) but the guy at least wasn't the typical grifter white billionaire.

Folks can follow and spend money on a different team or sport if it bothers them to that point. Many owners arent likeable but I am sure there are some out there that can make a fan happy if politics is their prerequisite. Popovich or the GSW seem to be fair candidates. As far as owners, dont choose PHX
