Abortion fight strains Democratic alliance with Gen Z
“There’s a fine line between the recent events pushing someone to never vote again or pushing someone to vote ... and bring friends," Florida Democrat Maxwell Frost said.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2022/07/05/abortion-fight-dems-gen-z-00043763

    excerpt:

A debate is raging inside the Democratic Party about whether it’s giving its base — especially those under 30, the generation that most strongly supports abortion rights — enough motivation to keep voting for the party, as federal Democrats struggle to meaningfully push back against the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

The fear is that an already deflated Democratic base won’t show up in November, particularly the youngest voters, who smashed participation records in the last two elections and backed President Joe Biden by a 25-point margin in 2020. Some Democrats stress that the Biden administration and Congress need to do more to show their rage — and willingness to take significant action — to mirror the passion seen among young people, three-quarters of whom support abortion being generally legal.

“There’s a fine line between the recent events pushing someone to never vote again or pushing someone to vote with that righteous anger and bring friends with them,” said Maxwell Frost, a 25-year-old Democrat who is running for a Florida congressional seat. “It’s up to our leaders to decide which direction that’s going to go in. When they show they’re in the fight, using all the resources to fight for the most vulnerable in our community … but we need more right now.”

I'd be cautious about just showing things about Republicans will SMASH Democrats come 2022...

Polls have been trending blue since the initial Roe leak, like I predicted it would.

For people who say "Well, you can't trust polls anymore." That's fine, but the whole 'Red Wave' narrative was created by polling too, so we can't just ignore that polls are now saying that the Democrats are gaining momentum because we've fallen into thinking the previous narrative was correct.

I think the mid terms are going to be an issue for the GOP, it now HAS to be a red wave, so if (and now it's a pretty big if, now its a toss up) the dems win the senate it will look like a pretty big failure for the GOP and people are going to directly point at a few things...

1.) The abortion ruling. People don't understand, it's on the ballot now, it never mattered to Democrats because it wasn't on the ballot. It's like if states banned drinking alcohol suddenly, it wasn't on the ballot but NOW it is on the ballot. The GOP will have to wrestle with Abortion rights, this will be something their party will have to live with EVERY election cycle now.

2.) The Trump hearing and his criminality. Many of these candidates are Trump boogers he's flicked out of his nose and placed on a map to compete. This could be a big problem as the hearings reveal how much he was willing to do to overturn democracy, some of these candidates, like Oz or Walker or the guy in Arizona whose name slips me now, might get burned by that. SURE, republicans will vote for these people but how many more moderate americans will simply decide (like Joe Rogan has) that they can't support Trump and either not vote for that candidate or vote blue.

3.) The narrative is building pretty quickly that the GOP and right wing want to create a theocratic nation. Just like how the 'socialist' label has really hurt Democrats this Christian Nationalist label is increasingly becoming popular. This won't help with Texas and Florida aggressively now going after the gay community.

In the end, elections are usually close, so when any side gets a lean that's pretty big. That Dems are leaning in races they need to keep the senate is something that could stop the red wave.

By overhyping the expections among the base, if it turns out they don't smash Democrats, it sets up another round of "stolen election" whinging tantrums.

I kind of wonder if that might not be the preferred outcome for some Trumpublicans. The chip on the shoulder is so vital to who they are.

I actually thought it was funny until he said "democrats in klan hoods"

Calling democrats the KKK and then implying he's killing them with an AR is ****ing insane.

If painting the political opposition as a boogie man that needs to be slaughtered is based then democracy isn't I guess.

I hope this hate spewing conspiracy theorist gets voted out.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Suggests 4th of July Shooting Was Orchestrated by Democrats

"Two shootings on July 4th, one in a rich, white neighborhood and another at a fireworks display. It almost sounds like it’s designed to persuade Republicans to go along with more gun control. We didn’t see that happen at all the Pride parades in June, but as soon as we hit MAGA month, the month that we’re all celebrating, loving our country, we have shootings on July 4th. I mean…”

She disgusts me! She and her so called country loving MAGA White Supremasists and insurrection buddies are what's wrong with this country. This is the new breed of Republicans people. Remember, she also pushed the idea that the California wildfires were started by a laser beamed in from space!

he's pointing out how blacks historically needed firearms to protect from the then Dem-afilliated KKK

sure it's hyperbolic, but sometimes that's necessary to get attention in a crowded field

This will make it harder for the Democrats to cheat, and of course they will not like that.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Bans Uses Of Drop Boxes In Elections

The Wisconsin Supreme Court has banned the use of unmanned ballot drop boxes for ballot collection in a tight decision released on Friday.

The court ruled 4-3 that voters could not turn their ballots into unmanned drop boxes and said that voters would not be allowed to give their ballots to others to drop off for them. The court said that voters would have the option to turn their ballots in-person or mail them in. Furthermore, drop boxes will not be used in the August primary or the general election.

“An absentee ballot must be returned by mail or the voter must personally deliver it to the municipal clerk at the clerk’s office or a designated alternative site,” the majority decision said.

The lawsuit, initiated by two Wisconsin voters, was brought against several entities including the Wisconsin Election Commission (WEC) and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Documents in question included guidance from the WEC on mail-in-ballots and voting. The lawsuit alleged that ballot drop boxes “causes doubts about the fairness of the elections and erodes voter confidence in the electoral process.”

“The key phrase is ‘in person’ and it must be assigned its natural meaning,” said Justice Rebecca Bradley, who wrote the majority decision. She also said that election regulations regarding ballot drop boxes should come from the legislature.

When did the Democrats cheat? We know it wasn't in the 2020 election.

When did they not? Democrat leftists are liars, cheaters, thieves and depraved perverts to the core. This is who they are. It is what they do.

But it is now going to be more difficult for them to do it in Wisconsin.

Since we don't need evidence anymore, I think it's really important to note that @MojoMan is a pedophiliac and child rapist.
