Senator Feinstein has had a long and respected career serving San Franciscans, Californians and all Americans. But it is time for her to retire and allow others to take on the role...

Yeah it’s long past time for her to step down. This is one where CA and national Democrats need to urge her to step down and if not primary her.

Voters split between Democrats, GOP in 2022 midterms, 1 in 6 undecided: poll

Thought this was interesting. I've brought it up before but I don't think it is good news for the GOP that any of these polls are close. By default, the midterms for them should be easy, but it's not looking like it will be. This is supposed to be a red wave...unpopular president and how the party that holds power is always at a disadvantge in the mid terms yet the Dems are right there. A scandal or two away from winning or actually finding a narrative that works with the public.

They should get behind Warren's push to fight corruption...I think that would be popular...

Also the little tidbit that voters dislike Biden...but are still going to vote blue, isn't a good sign? Then the splits between women and men voters are crazy here. I can't imagine the abortion stories are going to be popular come election time...guess we'll see...

Back to the office? Bad for Biden.

    https://theweek.com/covid-19/1012794/back-to-the-office-bad-for-biden

    excerpt:

And that's the problem. The New York Times reported Wednesday that workers returning to their offices are experiencing "R.T.O. sticker shock" — higher prices for the gasoline, food, and coffee required for the daily commute. Workers who'd become accustomed to working from home were already reluctant to give up their comfy couches and leggings to go back to the office; the increasing costs of return is making that transition even more difficult. Who wants to have to shell out more cash just to go to work?

"It was: 'I don't want to make the commute,'" one expert told the Times. "Now it's: 'I can't afford the commute.'"

This is Biden's conundrum: Every bit of good news has a dark side. So while he might be presiding over a "deceptively strong economy" with more jobs, lower unemployment, and rising wages, the public doesn't really feel it. Nearly half of Americans say the economy is in "poor" shape, while just 17 percent say it's excellent or good — the lowest rating since 2014. Just one in five respondents say they're "getting ahead" economically. The sticker shock of going back to work is just more of the same.

We need more tax breaks for WFH. There are still too many control freak old school businesses out there. The more pressure to advance WFH the better.

And this coming from the Post.

This is why I keep saying the Republicans can't get out of their own way, they should be up big with everything that is going on.

Not gonna lie, it gives me hope that most of the electorate still has some common sense.

    Talk about 1st world problems.

You don't need food and coffee for daily commuting.

So an expert can't afford to commute to work?

    Really?

President Trump is out on the rally trail, in advance of the 2022 midterms. Yesterday he was in Ohio, where he was stumping for U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Vance. In addition to announcing that "this man is going to win," he made a number of very correct, right on the money observations about where the greatest danger to our country comes from right now. It is not China or Russia. It is from within, from the evil sickos who constitute the American Democrat left.

Here is a quote from the Ohio rally:

Trump: Our Biggest Threat Remains The Sick, Sinister, And Evil People From Within Our Own Country

Former President Donald Trump said the greatest danger to the U.S. "remains the sick, sinister, and evil people from within our own country" at a rally on Saturday in Ohio where he publicly endorsed J.D. Vance for U.S. Senate.

"In this moment together, we're standing up against some of the menacing forces, entrenched interests and vicious opponents that people have ever seen or fought against," Trump said. "Despite great outside powers and dangers, our biggest threat remains the sick, sinister, and evil people from within our own country."

"There is no threat as dangerous to democracy as they are," Trump said. "Just look at the un-Select Committee of political hacks and what they're doing to our country while radical left of murderers, rapists and insurrectionists room free. Nothing happens to them. But no matter how big or powerful these corrupt radicals may be you must never forget this nation does not belong to them. This nation belongs to you."

Now if that isn't him describing his own party I don't know what is. He always projects and deflects the exact thing his own party is doing. It's hilarious. Traitors, cons, accused felons, a couple pedophiles, some Q crazies, and a few racists, gay haters, white supremacists, and Putin lovers.

I would guess that Lee still wins but this could actually be a pretty close race now.

Does this help him? Or will it turn off more Republicans looking for an alternative?

Democrats approach a midterm message but struggle to deliver it
Biden signals a message for the midterms: Democrats bring results, Republicans bring MAGA. But there’s little sign the party is delivering it with any energy or regularity.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/04/25/biden-democrats-message-midterms/

    excerpt:

As an anxious Democratic Party hurtles toward the midterm elections led by a president whose approval ratings have dropped precipitously, Biden is beginning to put the pieces together for an aggressive campaign to help limit Democratic losses in November.

But it’s an effort some in the party say is long overdue, and despite Biden’s ramped-up efforts, there is no finalized, comprehensive strategy for the midterms inside the White House. There’s no overarching document that outlines the president’s involvement in key races, nor a set message that will carry the party through November, according to multiple people familiar with the situation who spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk candidly.

    ***
Democratic strategists say the White House is still moving too slowly and remains too disorganized ahead of the midterms, when many Democrats fear their party will lose control of the House and possibly the Senate.

“There is as much a plan to win the midterms as there was to airlift Afghans out of Kabul,” said one Democratic political adviser who remains close to the White House. “They’re putting us all in a bad place.” The adviser, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to speak candidly about the party’s prospects, was referring to the chaotic, deadly withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan last summer.
    ouch.

Some things really need to change pretty drastically in the next 6 months for the incumbent administration to do well in the midterms.

Everything about a normal Americans economic life right now is totally messed up. Everything is incredibly expensive and the stock market keeps getting demolished.
