a guy with a shoe size iq like walker being that important in govt is just another little joke from the heavens.
Beto is for sure done. I think if Abrams keeps her ego in check, she still has a path to political relevance but not sure she will take it. Texas is culturally red and unlike what pollsters and anthropologist have told us, Hispanics ARE changing. They are acculturating like Italians and Jews did. They are becoming part of the white majority and the voting patterns will reflect that.
NC flipped court to R. Rs celebrating as this will allow them to effectively gerrymander that state solid red
Even if the GOP takes the house and the senate this is a massive underperformance by an out party running against an incumbent with low approval ratings, high inflation, and a bad economy.
Yeah, I'm pretty confident in Fetterman and even Warnock winning when the votes are counted. With Warnock, worst case scenario will be a run off, but I think Fetterman will be well ahead as the votes come in.
If republicans do end up taking the house by 10 votes or less. Going to be a nightmare. McCarthy might resign
Same with Ohio. It was already red, but 1 GOP justice was vetoing all the GOP gerrymandering and he retired and a modern GOPer won the replacement race.
If it's like 5 votes, I can't imagine ANYONE in the party being able to muster the votes to be speaker. Maybe Trump, if he realizes the country doesn't want him as President, can become Speaker of the House.
And all that's going to do is get D judges to approve future NY and Cali gerrymandering. This is not the laboratory of democracy that was envisioned. Hell yes, I'm all for super blue or super red states if that's a true reflection of their populations. But states being super blue and super red due to gerrymandering that are actually only 55% or less is just governing by selfishness.
Not just a tight majority, but a tight majority with more infighting than House Targaryen. I think regardless of titles Gym Jordan is likely running the show for the R’s for 2 years and his brand is going to be what makes the case for the party going into 24. It’s sort of a nightmare scenario for them where they don’t have a big enough majority to have any real power, but make enough noise to prove how bad they would be if they had real power. Not sure what this means for avoiding government shut downs. I assume impeachment is out the window but not sure what you guys think. It would be pretty laughably hilarious and the shortest vote ever in the Senate even if McConnell does squeak out a majority.
Warnock took the lead back and is up to 49.1%. Will be interesting to see if he can break 50% and avoid a nightmare for the next month.
