Seeing hurricane Ian could have tropical storm force winds 100 miles out from the eye. This is looking like a really big storm.
Yep, 3 storms hit us Laura, Delta, and the great Texas freeze of 2021. After that I bought a generator and haven't had a storm even come near.
They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
Good luck. All my prep work failed as the effing European model has taken hold. House and rental are prepped as best a possible. As long as we don't get a 7-10 foot storm surge we will hopefully be OK. Heading to Port St. Lucie tomorrow.
Looks like Boca and further southeast are going to be spared the worst of it. So far, looks like they are keeping schools open, too...nobody other than us seems to have gone away. I guess the real Floridians aren't chickenshits like us who are fresh off the boat...
If you're leaving and the average Floridian is staying, you're probably the sane one. lol. Seriously, just like you may have made a "mistake" leaving, there are going to be people that make a mistake staying. I know if I had the ability to easily and safely leave when a hurricane was headed toward me and still feel safe about leaving my house and belongings behind, I'd leave. Hurricanes are too damn unpredictable sometimes.
Real Floridians buy concrete block houses with hip style roofs on elevated terrain on a reliable grid.
I have been reading a discussion about Ian and some of the Florida participants have concerns about rainfall at or near Hurricane Harvey levels.
