Hopefully Caserio drafts one of Mayer, Washington, Gilbert or LaPorta and another TE later in the draft.
Little Earl or Baby Campbell--too early? I'm loving me some DP. Last RB I enjoyed watching this much was #34 on the Oilers. This kid is exciting and humble--Run Country Boy, Run--will be our new battle cry. Ok, I'll put down the bourbon.
It's crazy how good Pierce is at shredding tackles. When you look at him there is nothing physically that jumps out and makes you think he would be good at that. He doesn't have crazy tree trunk legs like Barry Sanders, or just generally built like a tank like Earl Cambell or Jim Brown or others huge RBs. He's not even super quick and elusive like Kamara or Gayle Sayers. He just somehow runs through contact. Almost like it is fueled by pure determination. Super fun to watch.
Pierce's OL blockers really need to get into the habit of not giving up on plays with him. You can see several trailing behind that run against Jacksonville and they clearly kept assuming he was tackled and not attempting to get in there and help. But even just a little push forward might have gotten him into the end zone on that run if they hadn't given up.
