    That was an interesting comment.....

He's actually been open a LOT when he's played.... and the ball finally found him.

He's only been targeted 13 times in 7 games. I wonder all the time if wide receivers are open and CJ just doesn't see them, because you rarely get that view on TV. There are times I've seen glimpses of guys open, even in the end zone, but the cameras always focus on the stupid ball.

Nick, Demico, and Bobby have all made comments similar to this. Players are open during plays and CJ is not seeing them for whatever reason. They have never gone into the reasons but start with the 'we/everyone has to do better'

CJ missed him for a TD in the Jets game....there is just no offensive flow right now. Timing is off between QB and receivers, CJ isn't seeing guys that are open or misfiring when he sees them, or he's running for his life.

I think all of this can be corrected if the offense can find some rhythm.

Our scouting for offensive linemen sucks. We've had a bad offensive line for years.

Yes, I've mentioned Oline many many times. I believe a few others have too. The Oline has had a giant flashing arrow pointing at them all season and it clearly said broken inside. ;) I also see the team has more than one issue.

Agreed, but it's so much simpler to just blame everything on the OC.

Not "everything", but oh hell is there blame there too

There's not another "team sport" like football. There's lots of blame to go around for the Texans offense

    I totally agree with this.

Slowik isn't blameless. But considering he lost Mixon/Collins/Diggs, he's doing his best working with what he's got to work with.

What Buck said and I would also add, since the Oline sucks and they can only run certain protection eliminating other protection schemes, it makes it easier for defenses to see what they are doing throughout a game. It could be one reason the 2nd half doesn't go as smoothly. Also, Stroud may be trying to do too much himself, not only to make up for the failure in front of him but also for his personal growth as a 2nd year QB after a phenomenal rookie year. He is also trying to protect the ball, the game, the check downs, and the homeruns and it may be causing him to hesitate on some throws. Below is a video with him making a brief comment about it.

The OL will improve on these issues if they can stay healthy.

Stroud's not as good as he was last season, but that is understandable because he's missed his top 3 weapons for a significant portion of the season. This should also improve when Nico gets back. Main thing is for Stroud to play like he did last year.

So you're saying he should get a new haircut and grow a mustache?

His best is not good enough. I’m a very patient fan but that second and 6 run did it for me. Fire Slowik.

I dont think things would be better with another OC.

    Particularly within season.

What would you do differently? I dont have an issue with a 2nd and 6 run. Because the offense is shorthanded Slowik was trying to shorten the game. Getting in a shootout with a team with a high powered offense when you dont have your best play maker is a sure way to fail.

Can we even rely on Metchie at this point seems like that was a wasted pick now

He's certainly not the difference maker that Caserio used multiple picks to trade up into the 2nd rd for.
