We have to "keep it real" with our young players and capture context to be able to properly evaluate and emphasize proper areas of improvement. Having guys post a few plays to go along with "Courtland Sutton is Stingleys Son" type of sentiment is how you get clowned on. Stingley is a supreme athlete who still has his best football in front of him. Sunday was tough though. Same energy I have for Davis Mills and his "I thought I played solid" comments. Accountability is important for young players. Lets cheer our guys on no doubt, but lets not go tunnel vision on the process. Its ok to be critical of games that were not that great its the only way you can have a standard to keep getting better! https://www.gallerysports.com/stung...-rough-game-against-courtland-sutton-broncos/
I think Stingley has already made a massive impact on our defense. Despite playing two very respectable offenses with accomplished, veteran QBs (Colts, Broncos), we are 11th in points per game allowed. Last season, we were 27th in points per game allowed over the full season. A shutdown corner who can wall off one side of the field is highly disruptive to an offense. If we add to our pass rushing capabilities in the 2023 draft and then sign a couple of quality defensive free agents, we could have a top 5 defense as soon as next season.
This 100% Also keep in mind the additions of wallow and Harris very soon. I'm really excited to see what Harris can bring to this defense. In Caserio we trust to build not only this defense up but the whole team in general.
Not sure if you have watched any of their games but the Colts/Broncos' offense are terrible. Matt Ryan threw 3 picks and laid a goose egg against the Jags last weekend. The defense is looking much improved though.
I'm hoping that Harris is the real deal and they draft another LB to go with him KGH, Harris, drafted LB would be a solid unit.
No, but yes now, me know I dumb in wrong thread. I am totally cool with Mills throwing picks this week, though.
I can't imagine ever rooting for the Texans, Rockets, or Astros to tank. Guess we are two different kinds of fans. I always root for a win.
If they come down to the last game of the season and a loss ensures the number 1 pick, what will you root for?
A loss at that point. That being said, I would never root for us to tank before the last game or two.
