Question: Do you think the 4 best coaches in the league are in the finals?

    Kidd
    Udoka
    Spoelstra
    Kerr

At this point . . . I think Kerr is the weakest coach mainly because I just think he rolls the ball out and clap
    (Hell Walton had them winning)

Spoelstra, Kidd and Udoka appear to have made some key adjustments
in order to win. They may or may not have had the best teams
but IMO they out coached their opponents.

    What/how do you evaluate coaches?
Where does Silas fall in these categories.

I would like to say player development but I think that is more of an organizational thing.
I think Coaching shows up 2 (well 3)places.
    1. Preparation
    2. In Game Adjustments
.... 3. (To a lesser extent Ego Management and Player Motivation)

While Doc and DanAndToni can have the team prepared . . . their in game adjustments are not strong
I don't think Vogel was good at management of the Egos and player motivation. I cannot say about his prep and adjustments.

Coach Spo is the best and no one else is even close to his class.

Every other coach would have been out in the first round with his roster. Butler is good but we only know about guys like Bam and Herro because he makes the best of their abilities

Yes the weakest coach is clearly the guy with 5 NBA finals and 3 titles in 7 seasons and .682 record.

Ref Aided and Maybe the best ready made team
I seriously think had he not came back . . .Walton could have taken that team just as far.

Yeah ok sure! .... anyway it's just silly to pick the guy who - far and away - has the best record of success (Spoelstra is next closest via the LeBron years, but it's really not that close) and is clearly the coach of the last decade, say "Yo we can pretty much write off this guy out of the gate in favor of these other randos"

I mean, your thread, you can do whatever you want but, c'mon man

He and Spo probably walked into the most ready made teams
I dunno the Celts and Heat and Mavs look like they require more coaching.
    Esp at this point

I think Kerr excelled in the #3
I think he is decent at adjustments and prep.

Kidd and Udoka - they are relatively new (at least to their current teams)

The thread is about discussion not absolutes.

Give it up, Kerr has been a really good coach. I wish the Rockets would of had Kerr as a coach as much as I dislike the guy.

Yeah but this is silly - Kidd "walked into" a ready made team with a 23 year old future MVP/HOF all-time great, and it's not like the Celtics were lacking for talent recently.

Seriously if you want to say "who's most likely to overachieve in the future relative to expectations" i guess that's a thing you can do, but relative to hindsight expectations? That's not a thing!
