Barber and Whitley are too low and they don’t even have Dubin on the list, which doesn’t make any sense. Hensley, Diaz, Wagner, and Arrighetti seem high. BA is always weird and if you look back their lists have usually been the worst out them, MLB and Fangraphs.

Three Fayetteville pitchers combined to allow three hits... but the Woodpeckers lost 3-2.

    Rhett Kouba: 3.2 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 5 K
Kasey Ford got the final out of the 4th on one pitch.
Edinson Batista: 4 IP, 2 unearned runs (both runs scored on an error), 2 BB, 7 K

Anyone happen to have any news on Forest Whitley. All I have seen on line is he is throwing off the mound from March of this year. Is June supposed to be the month he begins game action?

I would expect him to be throwing in games in late June but they may do that in the complex scrimmages, so we might not see him in AAA until July, assuming all goes well.

Corey Julks is wrapping up an absolutely scorching May. Ops for the month over 1100 with 7 HR.

Guys who’ve have a 100+ jump in ops in May over April: Julks, Leon, Berryhill, Diaz, Dirden, Kessinger, Corona, Loperfido, Cerny, Correa, Sandle, Barber, Gonzalez, Hamilton, Santana, Daniels, Stevens, Brinson, Guilamo

Guys who fell off: Lee, Whitcomb, Hallmark, Palma, Mascai, Orr, Wagner, Brewer

Guys who excelled both months: Matijevic, Hensley, Adolph, Abreu, Nerio, Hamilton

Guys who struggled both months: Barreto, McKenna, Perez, Molina, Whitaker, AJ Lee, Manea

Guys who were middling both months: De Goti, Salazar

That’s a lot more guys improving than getting worse, so seems like a win for the development.

Best part - No walks. That has been a huge problem for him this year. Only 5 hits. His ERA now stands at 2.01, and his WHIP is 1.14.

I think they’ll find a spot for Brown on the roster the same way they did Meyers last year, he seems to be forcing their hand with his performance

Just saw that Mike Papierski has been called up to the Giants. He’s the 12th player from the Astros 2017 draft class to reach the majors. Houston could end up with up to 15 guys from that class reaching the big leagues. Extremely impressive.

95.4 mph slider is just ridiculous. The hardest slider thrown by a major league pitcher this season was 92.9 mph.

92.9 mph is almost as ridiculous. Imagine if that was a strike. That's a hat tip to pitcher as you head back to the dugout.

Alex Santos struck out 4 consecutive batters in 12 pitches. No immaculate inning though, since they were the last two of the sixth and the first two of the seventh.

Chayce McDermott with an excellent outing in game 1 of Asheville's doubleheader: 6 IP, H, 3 BB, 8 K

His ERA is now down to 3.55 (5.29 at home, 3.00 away).
