I was going to chug that koolaid until I realized three things:
Christian Wood got replaced by a 19 year old
Eric Gordon was on his way out, and would be replaced by a 19 or 20 year old
And most importantly, this was the last year for tanking until they lose their pick to OKC, and that says nothing about Wemby or Scoot

Would be kinda funny if we wound up winning 25 after all. Ideally while still falling into the bottom 3. Which is looking weirdly not totally impossible after beating two supposed contenders. (Although granted the Lakers do kinda suck without LeBron and AD.)

Charlotte would need to 4 more games. Possible given their upcoming schedule but hard to bet on. You would also want them to have done that preferably before they play the Rockets, or else they have even more incentive to not win those last few games.

Had the under but only slightly, I thought we would win like 22-23 games this year. Now it's looking like 19-20 at best lol.

Keyonte George looks like he is a younger version of Eric.

I always thought the under was a pretty safe bet at 24.5.

it was always going to be under. 19/20 year old kids don't win much at this level and never will

I think we can win 3 of the remaining games.

But is there a takeaway of we win fewer games this season than last?

The takeaway is that when you replace veteran players with rookies, you are going to lose more games.

And I have some bad news for you for next year....

There are long-term reasons that we aren’t likely to see marked improvement next year. For one, we are about to add another teenager to our starting lineup. And because we have invested top three picks in Jalen and Jabari, it looks like they will remain in the starting lineup.

If the Rockets were to sign Fred Van Vleet and Jerami Grant this off season (possible, if not probable), and started them in place of Jalen and Jabari, this team is instantly significantly better. But I believe that Jalen and Jabari will eventually improve and become better than both of those players. So, while I see a path to short term success, I don’t necessarily want to take it because it could derail greater success further down the road.

If you sign Fred and Grant, you instantly become the Blazers without Dame and a traditional Center.

We could also start them alongside Jalen and Jabari and watch their games get better as well.
