Could we have acquired Lillard? Portland is now willing to trade him to the highest bidder. We could have taken Lillard and Simons for Garuba, Christopher, Tyty, KJM, 3 future first round picks and multiple second round picks. Are they really going to get a better deal than this unmatchable cap relief (Lillard + Simons annual salary of $60m) and a ton of young assets?
So we did not get the finalist for DPOY who can stroke the three like JG on JC and we are replacing him with…… more minutes from Sengun The Australian sensation Landale Old man green Little man Tate Boban the Giant Small ball smith Lockem up one to five DB
I'm not sure what point the cap relief would be for them? They already paid Jerami Grant, so most likely want to see what they have in their current crop of young guards - all of whom are superior prospects to Christopher and TyTy. So I doubt they would dump Simons - the idea behind moving him was to bring veteran help to play next to Dame. If Dame goes, then Simons stays? Also, if Lillard asked to be traded away from Portland, why would he be happy playing in Houston? I don't see the logic in it in the real world!
He would definitely (and correctly) view it as a downgrade and would demand another trade before the deadline rolls around.
Dang it Silas why did you tell those giant brothers they could hang out together in Milwaukee?!?!? @WestendMassive
