I believe Correa told the team no negotiation during the season unless the Stros harass them, I think the Stros should keep bugging their rep. Watching Lindor and Betts struggle, it is hard to spend that type of money on 1 player. Hopefully Correa can sign a contract with the Stros that matches the length with Altuve (through 2024), so they can leave as brothers.
I'm feel click is going to wait and see if the additions of Baez, James, paredes, abreu, smith etc will help. I hope I'm wrong but I really don't see him doing much to improve the bullpen
I think he'll bring in at least one reliever via trade. Even if the pen wasn't a disaster, the Astros really need to free up some space on the 40 man and have a glut of players in the 25-28 year range that appear ready for the majors but don't have a role for the Astros big league club. At least some of those guys need to be dealt soon.
This is actually not a bad idea. But I doubt it would work. At this point Correa probably thinks he is going to win the MVP and break the record for largest contract ever.
Kind of glad Stanek imploded last night. Before yesterday, his numbers were very deceiving… He gets barreled up very often. Even during his “clean” innings I’ve seen balls get laced to the warning track. His fastball is high velocity but very straight and easy for big league hitters to square up, especially with no “plus” secondary offerings. I fully expect Click to acquire an “8th inning guy”. Can’t trust that Baez or Abreu to come back and suddenly be elite(which is what we’ll need) during the stretch run and into the playoffs. Pressly is ROCK solid. Just need someone to help bridge that gap- because the drop off is significant going from any bullpen arm to Pressly

Give me the Graveman deal. But I think you may have to throw in a guy like Dawson to get a deal done.
Now that KC has fully and completely imploded after a nice start, they have a few interesting bullpen guys, all cheap and expendable for the Royals, who yall need to thoroughly analyze: Barlow, Zimmer, Staumont (not mentioning Holland but he's there too) We anxiously await your report.
Holland's peripherals blow and he's a free agent after the season. The rest are all under team control for a few years with Barlow being through '24 and the others through '25. Barlow is the most interesting to me and has the best underlying numbers with a 3.27 xERA, 2.10 fip, 2.88 xFIP, and a 2.94 SIERA. He also is striking out over 13 per nine, has a 47 percent groundball percentage, and only gives up 0.24 homers per nine. The downside is he's walking 4.06 per nine. Zimmer is over 4 walks per nine as well while striking out just under 9 guys per nine innings. But he does have a higher groundball percentage than Barlow at almost 55. His xERA is 3.04 with a 3.42 FIP, a 4.14 xFIP, and a 4.03 SIERA. Staumont is at almost 5 walks per nine while striking out almost 10 per. His xERA is 4.05 while he has a 4.06 fip, 5.10 xFIP, and a 4.27 SIERA. Staumont has the edge in average fastball velocity at 96.5 but it's dropped from 98.2 in 2020. Barlow is at 95.7 which is up from 95.1. Zimmer is at 94.3 which is the same as where he was in 2020.
They need to trade for this years version of Joe Biagini. Remember how funny he was in that initial press conference? Gold.
It's not a lock that the Mariners are sellers. They have a better record than the Yankees and are 4.5 games out in the wildcard.
Garcia and Bleier would be a good package that shouldn't require too much of a return given the limited control involved. Get on the phone Click.
