If no one is getting him the rock in that sport or if the system is designed not to give him as many open corner threes that would be the issue. He got plenty of shots the 3 years he has been here. Getting shots shouldnt be a problem or signaling of decline it would be making these shots.
I see what your point. It doesn't make sense to play him 35 minutes and not give him his most efficient shot, and that would be on Silas. I feel like I've seen him pass up shots and dance around too much. Maybe that is Silas' fault but if a player doesn't fit a coaches system that's still their problem even if its not their fault, IMO.
I guess, but I guess I would ask the question, is the system all that great if it can't get the best(if not one of the best) corner three point shooters in the game that shot consistently?
Here’s our offensive problems: Wood - 27.3 Wall - 22.7 Gordon - 30.0 Nwaba - 25.0 House - 20.0 Tate - 33.3 Our 3 point shooting has been horrific. We can live with some of this, but Wall and Gordon shooting this poorly from beyond the arc simply can’t be tolerated. Our finishing around the rim has been excellent.
Team 3P% 1) Bucks - 43.7% 2) LAC - 40.8% 3) SAS - 39.6% 27) Houston - 32.6% https://www.espn.com/nba/stats/team/_/table/offensive/sort/threePointPct/dir/desc FYI - We are 11th in 2P%
This is the reason I love to come to CF because of seeing all these kind of posts from the same group of delusional sociopaths everyday. Last couple weeks we have seen posts about how great Stone was to gather this championship caliber roster and how relieve our fans felt about no need to follow the evil dork Elvis analytics 3 balls strategy anymore and like to see more midrange shoots. Then few days later, the same group of delusional sociopaths now will doubt themselves again on the same sh't once the team will start to lose couple games.
we are #1 at 58.5% on 2P%. League average is 52.3%. #2 is the Pacers at 56.8%. We can absolutely finish inside, and in a variety of ways. Slashes, cuts, drives, lobs...we’ve got it all for getting into the paint. And it’s even more impressive given how terrible our spacing and shooting has been. But we have got to get our shooting fixed. That’s part practicing together, part getting everyone back, and part personnel changes.
Wood - 27.3 on 4.4 attempts per game Wall - 22.7 5.5 attempts per game Gordon - 30.0 on 10 attempts per game Nwaba - 25.0 3.2 attempts per game House - 20.0 3.8 attempts per game Tate - 33.3 2 attempts per game 10 attempted 3's per game???????????????????? @finsraider added some context https://www.nba.com/stats/players/shooting/?sort=25-29 ft. FGA&dir=1 #1 in the league in attempted 3s. He is shooting more of them and making less of them than anyone even close to him in the attempts category. Are they just showcasing (trying to anyway) him for a trade or has Eric Gordon lost his goddamned mind?
I would even say Gordon only shot well in his first season with us. After that its been really unreliable
Both EGo and Wall shoot way too many 3's. That said, EGo shooting 3's is still more palatable than Wall shooting 3's. Both need to be on Russ 3P restriction plan right now and just attack the f'ing rim. PJ needs to up his attempts from the corner.
The entire team needs to practice three point shooting. We have to hit these shots consistently at a high percentage when pressured. Teams will sag off and pack the paint or passing lanes if you don't make them pay and respect the outside shot.
Someone told me last year that Rockets players only shoot badly because of Harden hogging the ball. What's the excuse this year, Harden is getting fewer iso's than ever and everyone is touching the ball
