Anything can happen imho Alp is the better player (and its not even close) but a lot of it depends on what rockets marketing department decides....

“It really makes me happy,” said Sengun.

If Sengun has been better in practice scrimmages than he was in Summer league games that’s pretty exciting because dude was really f’n good in summer league.

In summer league in a game that featured Cade and Green as two of the most hyped 1/2 picks to come out in quite some time Sengun was clearly the best player in the court that night.

    Come on Tuesday.

I have to applaud the NBA for finally trying to get a handle on these antics (esp w/ Harden gone now). The absolute key is that which is not a natural basketball move is either an offensive foul or a non-call (if minimum contact). These calls have swung way to far in the offense's favor (speaking as a guy that used a subtle leg kick to draw fouls) and it will be interesting to see how well this is officiated this year.

less about marketing department and more about development department.

not that Alpi doesn’t have a lot of room for development. But if they both develop to their absolute fullest potential, Jalen becomes the better player… though again they both become multi multi time all stars, but Jalen becomes HOF #1 championship player esque.

And I’m a bigger fan of Alpi than Jalen. But it just is what it is.

If D. House is cooking the young bloods in 1:1,

    a) good for house
    b) the young guys got ways to go.

This is true. I won't be surprised if Jalen struggles on the onset. Only because he's slight of build. Once he's able to add bulk/muscle, he's going to soar. His shot and scoring ability is awesome.

I don't feel like Booker should be penalized in this particular leg kicking instance as the defender runs into him from the side rather than a straight on contest.

While Jalen has the athleticism, Alpi has the size.

I would say their "perceived potential".

What I mean is that we don't really know what either of their ceilings are. Jalen could reach his potential of being everything we thought he could be, but it's possible ALP could surprise us and exceed what he's perceived to be capable of.

Typical comparison but look at Jokic. No one had him as an mvp when he was drafted. He far exceeded what folks thought his potential was.

I’m with you…. Except I was factoring in a Jokic like upside for Alpi.

Ill take Kobe (but worse on defense) over Jokic.

both are insane stupid high targets but just saying that’s what I’m talking about.

I think if Alp spoke English he would sound a lot like Giannis. The intensity and desire to be great is obviously there, takes a little psycho to whisper to the ball at the free throw line before every shot.

but i am sure you wouldnt take Kobe over imaginary Jokic ie who is also great defensively?
not sure if jokic is a great comparison, Alperen is much more mobile and agile than Jokic

Perhaps but I am sure Alpi the MVP is a better player than Benn Simmons and would tear him up 1 on 1
