Don’t kill me for this but as long as CJ is throwing to him, Nico Collins will take the same trajectory as……
That works. Then draft another reciever to line next to him and Tank...like Legette, Thomas, Worthy, or any good speed receiver out there in bottom 2nd or 3rd.
1. I didn't want CJ because I wanted Ryans/Caserio to wait until 2024 to draft a QB. (I was wrong) 2. Ditto for trading the picks for WA. 3. Agreed abot not wanting to give up the Texans pick. 4. I always thought Collins would be a really good WR but that he needed to stay healthy. So I got 1 out of 4 right, The main reason I was wrong is because these guys are leaders of men.
Final stats according to NFL.com 1297 yds - 8th NFL 8 TDs - 4th NFL (tie) 20+ yds 25 - 3rd (tie) 40+ yds 5 - 5th (tie) 80 Rec - 21st yeah we have our #1 receiver. Lock him up.
I'm not sure how to grade myself. 1. I too wanted to wait for the 2024 QB class. 2. I wanted WAJ at two or a trade down for draft capital if we could still get him since QB ops bring in crazy offers. 3. I didn't worry about which pick because I thought ours would be higher and Clevelands would be lower. 4. I shared this Idea for Collins along with hope Stingley and Metchie could also stay healthy. I still want to give Metchie another year to recover strength from his bout with cancer. I still have hope all he needs is this extra year to get back the extra step he needs for success.
I think the majority of us know he's a WR1. Especially after Saturday's game. That's a strong debate to argue when he puts up 80/1300/8 while missing two games and going out of another after just one possession. It's more about having multiple weapons for CJ. The offense didn't look great once Tank Dell went down. WR room had a ton of injuries that caused the offense to get stagnant at times.
FAs Schultz and Brown and the probability that Tank will miss some time each season just because of his mass along with Metchie, Hutchinson and Woods who are playing as role receivers rather than weapons is leading to this. Schultz and Brown are each likely to earn $7M+ per year for their next contract.
But CJ is the catalyst there. I think he is just as vital to any WR grouping and will make average guys better. Using a high pick for a 3rd option just doesnt feel like getting the most value, but I can understand where you are coming from.
Mine is Nico Collins. I didnt think he was this good. I still say the Texans should try signing Mike Evans along with extending Nico if possible. Then they could roll out a WR1 Evans, WR2 Nico, and Slot+ in Tank next season. That's better than the Cincy receiving crew which is best in the NFL when healthy arguably (Rams might have something to say with Kupp + Puca).
1. I wanted Bryce and was scared of CJ because of OSU and S2. (I was wrong) 2. I thought browns were going to be worse than us and both be too 15 pick so I was down with WA trade. (partly wrong) 3. I loved that it was the Texans pick because I thought browns would be worse but mainly because it showed that after 3 years of suck, this team was going to actively try to win. (It did) 4. I thought Collins was JAG. (I was wrong) both wrong for different things, brother, both happily admitting it while relishing in this new Texans team. It’s all good, and we are both excited to see what more comes. Enjoy your posts! Go Texans!

I'm not saying first round but I'd use a 2nd rounder on Legette if he's there (growing on me). I would love a DT that can wreck havoc WITH Sheldon Rankins.
All 4 of my hindsight points were same as yours..l Actually felt disappointed we did not get Bryce Young and how silly that is now looking back..
Legette is an electrifying player. If he's available with pick 2 then it makes sense for me looking at things from a value perspective and maximizing the return. I think Maliek Collins is 'as good' as Rankins and is under contract. If we could sign a frontline DT I would let Rankins and his 10M salary walk.
I really just want T'Vondre Sweat so that could be my issue. Four man rotation with Teair Tart can keep our guys fresh. && with Anderson and Greenard on the outside, Dline can become our strength if it already isn't. Add in a FA LB like Azeez Al-Shaair (probably not a high price tag) with Christian Harris and Blake Cashman (re-sign). Whatever FA Safety available to top it off for the defense. Legette in Round 2. Probably shouldve been in the draft thread but...
