With the deadline past, we now have an opportunity to participate in 2021 free agency. We are projected to have between $15-20 million in cap space available, with another $10 million or so that could be opened if we trade House and Augustine (which should be relatively easy). Also, this assumes we don't move Gordon or Wall. We may choose to stay above the cap via our TPEs and other exceptions, but another area we may see some action in for the first time since the Jeremy Lin era is restricted free agency. While 2021 is an underwhelming class for unrestricted free agency, there are actually some pretty interesting names in restricted free agency that we could pursue, leveraging our cap space to force teams into difficult decisions with young players. Some names to watch: THT Gary Trent Jr. Jarred Vanderbilt Paul Reed Lonzo Ball Lauri Markkanen John Collins All of these guys are under 25, and we could make their teams at least uncomfortable in attempting to retain them. One guy id like to see us go after...Paul Reed. Its an upside play, but the 76ers are in the tax and we wouldn't have to give him a ton for it to be very painful for them to retain him.
The Houston will be ready to be lottery team for 3 years until Wall's contract expiring. Trade EG & House & Augustine maybe included Wood will be the main target next season
