Win or lose, I am just happy that Hakeem Olajuwon is representing the H... Hire Vernon Maxwell already.
Is there a position Vernon wants or would fit? On first glance, would he work in Player Development with Lucas?
Brothers, here we are, meeting again in june, with higher stakes long term. But less pressure short term. Hope we have a good night, God knows we´ll be here again come October, but how much better would it be to be discussing the best draft class since 2003 from the top and not from the middle of the pack. Whatever the outcome, grateful for clutchfans again! https://media.giphy.com/media/iHyVaHfEYXZos8qPX2/giphy.gif
I know another poster alluded to it a few pages back, but one thing to really watch carefully tonight is how many teams don't have their names called when they statistically are more likely to. The more teams who luck out and jump into the top 4, the worse the Rockets' odds are of landing that top 4 pick. No teams or 1 team jumping ahead of Houston into the top 4 is great, 2 isn't bad, but 3 would be and 4 means they're officially drafting 18th. Golden State, Indiana, San Antonio and Charlotte all have a worse than 10% chance of landing in the top 10, so if they all don't end up drafting somewhere around 11-14, we're in trouble right off the bat. New Orleans, Sacramento and Chicago all have about a 1 in 5 chance of landing a top 4 pick, so odds are pretty decent that one of them will jump into the top 4. Then the Raptors and Minnesota have around a 31-37% chance, while the Cavs and OKC are slightly worse than a coin flip (45%). So if you're looking for something to "root for" as we watch the teams get announced, be happy every time a team gets a pick where they ought to be picking. The bottom four teams need to go 11-14 and the next five need to go somewhere in that 6-10 range.
Next season the Rockets will be at that 7.5% in hopes of getting Poalo Banchero or Chet.......or will we? Is it 7:30 tonight yet?
Preparing my body for pain but trying to stay positive. Regardless, the future of this team hinges on more than a top 4 pick. What can we do in this years draft, how will our core pieces develop in a star driven league and will Fertits actually spend? Questions a plenty.
