At least he can pay in installments. Maybe John Wall will let him sleep on the couch.

He's paying like 2.250.000M on his own, Rockets are paying the rest according to Marca (big spanish sport newspaper), Tillman probably has now a new favourite player, Garuba gonna retire a Rocket and be the coach in 2040.

I like this for two reasons: one is that he is going to come here and develop alongside our other rookies and, two, dude is going to be hungry to make that money back meaning we will get high-motor Usman every time he steps on that floor.

NBA rules only allow teams to pay $750K towards international buyouts. So Rockets will be paying the max amount possible.

That probably falls into the same category the Nets are 'in trouble' for, paying for accommodation for players side pieces.

At #23, he's going to lock in for three years at:

    $1,961,100
    $2,059,300
    and
    $2,157,000

So its not like he's going to be dumpster diving for dinner. Even if you subtract that 3 million, he's still pulling down $1,059,133.33/yr
well more per year than most CEO's of mid-sized companies.

If he succeeds in the way we all think, his 2nd NBA contract will more than make up the difference with what he would make staying in Spain.

You should have seen some of his old ones before his hiatus. He has been great for years!

Unlikely Rockets will treat Garuba as cavalierly as a journeyman but I do like the enthusiasm.
