Diosmerky Taveras continues the string of strong starts for Fayetteville starters as he allowed two hits, walked one, and struck out five over five shutout innings. Alex Santos completed a 2-0 win with four hitless innings; he walked one and struck out four. Yohander Martinez is now on a nice little five-game hitting streak in which he's gotten two hits in four of those five games. They've all been singles, but a hitting streak is a hitting streak.
No Pedro Leon. However, I'm hearing a rumor that he got hurt in the 7th inning last night while stealing a base. Any truth to that?
Someone in the trade target thread mentioned the possibility of him tweaking something after stealing a base in the 7th so looks like it's true.
That "someone" was me. I saw someone on Twitter hypothesize that without any evidence. Would make sense if true given the sequence of events but until we hear official word every guess is just a guess,
Corey Knebel got the 1st inning in his first rehab appearance, and got Bregman to fly out to CF (he K'd Matijevic and Taylor Jones)
Excellent. Also, Bregman's cleanly fielded a couple of GB at 3rd and popped out foul on another 2-2 pitch his 2nd AB, so he seems to be ready to go.
