Enmanuel Valdez has an RBI triple and Luis Santana has a three-run homer for Asheville.

Tourists lead Brooklyn 4-1 in the 3rd

    EDIT: Santana homered again

Is that a future 2-LHP Stros pitching tandem?

Santana showing power is very interesting, though Asheville is hitters haven.

IF David Hensley has also hit 2 HR so far tonight (his 2nd and 3rd of the season). With his frame and defensive tools if he is able to tap into some power he could be a real prospect, like a rich man’s Taylor Jones.

Yes. He is playing 3B tonight. Probably isn’t suited for SS or CF (or C) but otherwise can play every position, and quite well from what I have seen. He has been a string bean (6’6”, ~190) so there was always the possibility he could bloom late. Definitely a path for him as a corner bat if there really is power there.

Jonathan Bermudez allowed a run on three hits, walked one, and struck out eight in five innings for Corpus.

He was a 23rd-round senior sign out of Southeastern (NAIA school in Florida) in 2018 who spent most of 2019 with Quad Cities, but he also had five relief appearances with Corpus as a fill-in and handled himself relatively well.

Probably a useful org arm at this point.

Whoa. If he's legit 6'6 he won't stick at 3rd...he's corner OF/1B. Dude better hit.

Yeah, that was actually dangerously high - could have landed on someone. Also, he's guaranteed to get beaned his next AB.

I hope that was a walkoff or his birthday or something special.

You see the ump run with him from 2nd to 3B? Anticipating a reaction.

Has played all four infield positions, most of his appearances have been on the corners (73 3B, 45 1B)

He used to be a boxer, so he might be able to handle himself in an altercation

Hard to punch at a fastball in the ribs. He owes a steak to whichever teammate takes the punishment.

I’m over here rubbing my hands together at the news that Santana hit 2 bombs. Always knew the guy could hit... showing some pop in his bat is nice. Hoping he has a breakout year

Norel Gonzalez, a Cuban who signed with the Astros in January of this year, also homered (solo) for Corpus Christi tonight.
