I'm also enjoying the Recruit through the first 4 episodes. probably watch more this evening before/after being disappointed in the Rockets.
Decided to check out Velma on HBO to see just how bad it is... it's the worst thing I've watched in a long time. There's so much wrong here.
How could you not find it funny? It was hilarious to me. Sure, mired in serious situations with bad consequences, but hilarious.
Watching Physical: 100 on Netflix. Korean athletic game show competition. After you get past the intros in the first episode it’s pretty good. Editing and contestant commentary makes it feel a little like an anime.
Finished Echo 3 from Apple TV. I'd give it a 6/10. Good cinematography. Kinda has that feel of Sicario to me, but with a terrible plot. Good action sequences that are pretty suspenseful.
Watching the new Bill Russell documentary on Netflix. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about basketball and Bill, but they are still so many new things you can learn. Seven months before he passed he auctioned all his memorabilia, MVPs, awards, etc. for his charity to mentor young people. Even in death, he was making an impact socially.
Finished Season 2 Slow Horses last night on Apple plus. Very good. Gary Oldman is great as a curmudgeonly MI5 spy master and the rest of the ensemble cast does a great job. The storylines is very tight and moves along well. Looking forward to Season 3.
I am on Season 3 of Servant on Apple+. Just started it about a month ago. The show is a slow burn, but creepy AF. Ron Weasley is great in it.
Definitely a dark comedy. I always hate being able to relate to characters such as these more than if care to admit. Spoiler Amy's realization and stating very plainly instead of posing as a question to George, "I'm a bad person"... oof! Next spoiler is like saying that a movie has a plot twist is a spoiler: Spoiler Last episode was a reminder that A24 had a hand in production, but still was a little too A24ish for me, though it still stuck the landing imo. 8.5/10
I didn't expect that to happen, thought it was a ploy of some sort until about halfway through. Actors were all top notch throughout as well....
I knew this thread would mention it. What a blindside. Like a driving scene where they have actors driving in an intersection and not getting T-boned at that camera side angle...
