Finished True Detective 3rd season. Some great acting I think Dorff outshined Ali but they both were great, I think they overdid the dementia aspect. After 4 episodes I would have given this 8.5/10 but they did not stick the landing and it was very anti climatic. Would have to give it 6.5/10 was really dissapointed how they ended it. Carmen Ejogo was a revelation.
Started a comedy series on netflix called, "Its Bruno" about a dog owner in Brooklyn and his world evolves around his dog named Bruno. Lead actor is the creator and director. First episode was hilarious and the episodes are only 15mins, so its a quick watch. Raunchy and somewhat over the top but pretty funny.
I did not realize Reddick was in it. I'm interested. Can you give me a breakdown, it just never held my interest.
Anybody watching The Food that built America? It's a fascinating show and some of the inventive thinking is amazing. Vending machines were invented just to sell gum and the invention of modern gum is an amazing story all of its own. It runs Sunday on the History Channel. https://www.history.com/shows/the-food-that-built-america/season-2
My head is killing me or I would answer your question. But if you want to see Reddick at his best, watch season 2. Don't expect to see a lot of him though.
Toy Tinker Soldier Spy - I'm about ten years too late, but finally caught the British Spy Thriller. After the movie, had to YouTube endings explained because it friggin' confusing. Grade b+ It (chapter 1 ) grade A It (chapter 2) grade B- still watchable. A good cameo. No Sudden Move (HBO max) - Don Cheadle & Del Torro. Mob movie. Was ok. Grade B.
Love that movie, rewatched it again the other night on HBO. Wish they would do a sequel following George Smiley's character (Gary Oldman), there's a ton of source material for it. Also, the perfectly done ending song is Julio Iglesias singing "La Mer", which is "Beyond the Sea" (Bobby Darin) done in the original French, and it's awesome. I agree with you on IT. First was amazing, 2nd was a bit of a letdown.
Has anyone seen "No Sudden Move" yet? Debating queuing it up now. Cast is stacked. Also wicked sad Lovecraft Country got cancelled Pretty stoked for "Foundation" to release though. Asimov was a master.
glad they're doing Foundation as a series, hope they do it justice. the trailers seem expansive, the series will need to be also.
Another reboot...but I'm highly in favor of this: Mad Men alum Slattery is reteaming with Hamm for the reboot that closely follows the plot of the classic Gregory McDonald mystery novel series that inspired the 1980’s Chevy Chase films. Hamm stars as I.M.Fletcher, the hotshot investigative reporter played by Chase in the 1985 neo-noir comedy of the same name. McDonald’s 11 mystery books, the first of which was published in 1974, center on Fletcher as he juggles writing exposes while avoiding headaches caused by his two ex-wives. Greg Mottola, known for comedies like Superbad and Arrested Development, is directing, with Zev Borow penning the screenplay. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/m...hamm-miramax-fletch-comedy-reboot-1234980123/
I loved Fletch, I can't see Hamm doing that broad a comedy. He has some comedy chops but I don't see him carrying a movie with them. Was the original Fletch like the source material?
Ok so I am in to Schitt's creek about 20 episodes deep. I have enjoyed them but was getting worried that the magic was wearing thin and then this happened. That back and forth about the mailman just killed me it was so simple yet effective and believable, of course they would not know how the actual mail works. Alexis still makes me feel some kind of way, she is a stallion and just my kind of crazy. David is becoming kind of one note but its a great one note, his outfits always deserve a chuckle. Moria is the real ****ing MVP she is just throwing 100 the last couple of episodes, it's a masterclass of absurd comedy, I have always liked her but she is just bringing it, what is up with that accent? David gets his fashion sense from Moira its funny how they have leaned into that. I think this is modern day Seinfeld and I understand why it's being mentioned as an all time great comedy. When I get to 70 I want to look as good as Eugene Levy. Once again how am I just learning about Annie Murphy? She is a babe.
One of the problems I had with the season was that the main character basically lived off his chops from 'Nam and we didn't get to see any of it in action at all except maayyybe briefly during the first few episodes. An underwhelming snoozefest of a season. It made Season 2 look good by comparison.
