Not a fan of Erivo? Sucks to hear that they don't endorse this but I know personally that the product should be judged on its own, those things are usually a money issue or having final rights on the portrayal.
She's 34 and has an Emmy, Tony and Grammy...Oscar away from the EGOT She was one of the best things about Bad Times at the El Royale, and I thought she was great in The Outsider. Haven't seen Harriet yet.
Why? It is of no great consequence. You like her . .. . you will like her I don't. There have been massive discussions about it among friends of mine I simply did not document all the sources. I have heard that as well and Africans but that is all internal business that I am simply not interested in discussing here no disrespect. Rocket River
The Last Blockbuster (2020) Grade B+ It's on Netflix right now. Nice little documentary covering the rise and fall of the company. And how one store is still left in the U.S. A family owned: moms/pops video store.
I know its old and we were late to this one, but we just finished Making of a Murder. Netflix is so good at documentaries. Now looking to watch the Aretha and Blockbuster shows.
It's of consequence because I respect you as a poster and if you heard something like this I think it has merit and would like to see what she said. I am not trying to make you like her I just want to know what is being talked about. If you don't want to discuss I can drop it. But you did spill the tea.
@Rocket River I found some stuff on the Erivo "issues" and it just seems to be a woke fight. She might have overstepped some grounds but that stuff was pretty small potatoes. It's amazing how things can get turned into a thing. Pettyness run amuck.
I started hearing it around 2018 and then I noticed this meme. I took it as starting some gossip and then backing away from it. Or just straight up gossiping or starting a rumour. It also can be just telling some info about somebody.
Warrior on HBOMax is in the same vein but with Asians, Irish, and San Francisco... so you know.... I really enjoyed most of the Spartacus series (Lucy Lawless is like fine wine).
Watched that Harley Quinn movie this weekend. Holy **** that was terrible even the good actors were terrible in it. all of the jokes even fell flat. The script and plot where **** and even the action scenes had no interest. The DCU deserves every bad thing said because they released that abomination.
Yup not good. Director/writer also doesn't read DC comics. Not a requirement, but then the fans not surprising (at the result). If they wanted Harley, they should have made Gotham Siren. Birds of Prey should have been a Batwoman/Huntress/Canary team movie.
Nate Bargatze: The Greatest Average American (2021 - netflix) Grade A. His new hour. Stories based on his personal experience. They filmed it outside (because of covid). Has a section for quarantine jokes, being a parent, and boomer/GenX/Zoomer observational humor. Self deprecating, and a dead pan delivery, Doesn't over sell, lets the jokes do the work. His stuff is not risqué; family friendly, still found it enjoyable, Would recommend.
I just started watching Q: Into The Storm on HBOMAX. It's a documentary on how QAnon evolved from the 2chan, 4chan and 8chan bulletin boards where unfethered and anonymous postings were allowed. This lead to an atmosphere of "anything goes" with no topic being off limits. It's VERY disturbing to watch especially if you aren't an aggrieved white male. The first two episodes are streaming now and they focus on the people behind 8chan where the mysterious Q supposedly resides. Q moved to 8chan when 4chan began enforcing content against child p*rnography and the like. The people who actually believe in this stuff are beyond description and watching this allowed me to begin to understand just how easy it was for DJT and his "cult" were able to pull off his great scam (and still continue to do so). Only watch if you have a strong stomach.
Checking out this New Netflix Series The Irregulars Seems to be loosely based off the Sherlock Holmes' character It is a racially mixed London. (revisionist history but it could be fun) Rocket River
