Started watching Utopia last night after recommendations from a few people. I’m not sold on the characters but it definitely grabs your attention.
Mr In-between is showing all episodes tonight on FX, only 30 minutes per episode highly bingeable. I Recommend.
@rocketsjudoka Warrior is running as a marathon this weekend season 2. Looking forward to see how it builds on season 1.
Watched the first episode of "Texas 6" on CBS All Access this morning. It's an 8-part docuseries on 6-Man Football in Strawn, TX. About 30 seconds in, I was hooked...has a "Last Chance U" vibe to it. Eventually had to turn on the closed captioning...heavy twangs and high school kids mumble a lot.
@Buck Turgidson Finally started watching Fargo and I see why some don't like it, I admit it's a bit heavy handed with the race issues. I am still enjoying the show but they are juggling a lot of balls, will be interested to see how they stick the landing. I think the acting is as top notch as ever, even Rock, the brother from Italy is great, a bit over the top, he was in a show called Gomorrah that I liked. Timothy Olyphant was a nice surprise but he is playing a amped up Raylan which makes me miss Justified.
The characters are pretty stupid but it's entertaining enough if you have nothing else on your backlog.
So we decided to give Cobra Kai a try. Not sure why we didn't earlier. Loved season 1 except for characters drastically changing personality last 2 episodes.
We just started The Wire yesterday and (I think) we start episode 6 in season one tomorrow. They just found Omar's partner playing video games. It seems like the next episode will heat things up, but it's been a slow burn up to this point. Are the rest of the episodes/seasons like this? I get that there's a lot of characterization being that the show is just getting started off, but it has to pick up... right? I've heard folks speak of this series so highly for well over a decade now, so I figured we'd give it a shot.
Just binged The Haunting of Hill House. Man, I really enjoyed it. Great story and while it wasn’t particularly scary, it did have one epic jump scare
One of my favorite shows..... It does "pick up" but it's definitely a drama that takes time to catch you up to this world.
The Wire is a hard show to get into. It took me a couple tries, years apart, before I could finish season 1. The slow plot and heavy accents were a huge turnoff, but it is definitely worth it. It's one of the best dramas.
It is a slow burn but everything that has happened in those episodes means something going forward. It starts heating up from here and the stakes gets raised, once you get to know all of the characters the show is more engrossing IMO. Let us know what you think when you finish season 1.
