Kevin Hart - Zero F*k Given - A- It's decent. Filmed it at his house. Talks about covid and things. Slightly better than his last two.
We finished this last night and thought it was great. I’d love to see it get quite a bit of award consideration.
For those with Amazon Prime I've been watching 'Britannia'. It's a very loose historical drama based on the Roman invasion of ancient Britain. It's got some similarities to 'VIkings' but it is far trippier.
Finished Cobra, a British show about an electricity grid going out because of a solar flare and the ensuing chaos. Not really a disaster movie but a look at how that situation would play out with all of the tensions of today, populism, immigration, militias and the wealth gap, they explore some really interesting stuff with some great acting.
I've started watching Goliath on Prime. I'm just a few episodes in, but the show is really good so far. Definitely unpredictable. I've never cared for Billy Bob Thornton personally, but he's so good in everything he does. I'm also watching The Outsider. The first few episodes were a bit mediocre, but the show has taken off since Holly Gibney (Cynthia Erivo) arrived on scene. Her character is a bit of a departure from King's book version, but a welcome one, IMO, that makes for a much chillier story.
ZeroZeroZero on Amazon was pretty awesome and reminded me of the great drug trade movie, Traffic. It follows the stories of the sellers, brokers, and buyers of cocaine.
The last bit about Jose the 60 yr old Mexican Nurse had me cracking up. Best part of the show. Rocket River
Apparently Francis Ford Coppola has recut Godfather III and is releasing it in early December. Diane Keaton swears it's excellent, and salvages Sophia Coppola's performance. https://www.indiewire.com/2020/11/d...-critics-reconsider-sofia-coppola-1234600740/
Is anybody watching The Family Chantel? The family is batshit crazy and the dad is a wimp but the Mother is on another level of crazy. Its like watching a train wreck and I am hooked. The mom though. Royal did not fall far from the tree.
