It seems the Texans have done a good job at evaluating guys that had "bumps in the road" due to injury or slower development. Most of the UDFA's and drafted players are guys that started to show flashes as Juniors or Seniors (some due to injuries). You want to find the guys that are steadily improving every year from high school and college and into the pros and not the ones that peaked as a sophomore or junior in college. These seem to be the type of players that are steals since most NFL scouts will overlook these types of players that only have 1 season or even less of consistent production. Not sure if this will pan out but B'OB definitely seems to have drafted guys that love football. I am sure he will find a way to make them hate football and quit before the season even starts though.
This seems like the ultimate low risk, high reward kid to stash on the Practice Squad or IR for a year. He's had success and went through adversity, usually those are both check marks for future success. That's he's learned three different offensive systems is an advantage coming into the pros.
Always find myself getting more hyped about the UDFAs than the actual picks. Like the Scottie pickup, looks to play bigger than his size although he’s passed up Duke as the shortest back on the squad. Texans looking to go small ball this year it seems
