The delivery of the pre-written line is totally off. She couldn't recite it fast enough. Looks and sounds very nervous.
I'm going to lose my chit if Leningrad Lindsey AKA Lady G loses his reelection bid. That would be too glorious.
Optics wise, Mark Kelley looks perfect to be a DnD villain (was it the cosmic rays? ) Tough year for a nut hugging Trump rubber stamper who had the bonafides of looking like a decent and respectable American.
It shouldn't be in play for the Democrats. But Trump and his supporters are making it more and more realistic every day. I think the most likely outcome is that it will end up a 50/50 split.
https://ktvz.com/politics/2020/10/07/arizona-senate-debate-turns-on-trump/ When pressed over and over again, Republican Sen. Martha McSally of Arizona would not say on Tuesday whether she was proud of her support of President Donald Trump in her debate against Democratic opponent Mark Kelly. “I’m proud that I’m fighting for Arizonans on things like cutting your taxes,” McSally said. “I’m proud to be fighting for Arizona every single day,” she later added. The response was simpler for Kelly, who called the President’s overall behavior and actions in office “not acceptable.” McSally’s response underscored her perilous position just four weeks before Election Day, as she tries to woo Trump supporters and independents in a state that appears to have turned on the President.
McSally is in a very tough spot given that AZ is looking more and more like it will go for Biden. She already hitched her wagon to Trump in 2018 and lost narrowly so she already knows that being all in on Trump isn't a winning issue. It's even worse for Gardner and Collins as their states look solidly in Biden's camp. That hasn't stopped Gardner from being all in on the Trump agenda and my guess is he knows he's done so he might as well stay with his party.
A year ago, posters would laugh at the suggestion the Dems could retake the senate this year. In March when this thread was made, it was still a bit far-fetched. Today the polls slightly favor it. Sure there is some oscillation to the election cycle. But I can't help but see it as a massive failure by trump to lose the House in 2018, the senate in 2020, and his own race as an incumbent with a good economy - all from a single, terrible term.
Generic Post for after another Kelly Loeffler self-own: Couldn't be more ashamed that we have yet another complete dumbass MAGA turd trying to install themselves in the US Senate. Thank you for standing for ignorance and corrrupton.
The Senate races will be the thing to watch on election night. I don't like the democrats chances on these red states, no matter what the polls say, but I'm hopeful to be pleasantly surprised. With Jones in Alabama expected to be a loss, the dems need 4 wins.
Even if the dems flip the senate, it could be a repeat of 2008 - 2010. 2008 was a huge wave election and dems won the senate with 59-60 seats and promptly lost it in a midterm bloodbath two years a later. If a dem wins in a red state, that doesn't mean they'll hold it forever. I should research how many/which seats are up in 2022.
