The way things are looking though by the time that rolls around all the absolute smartest out there not wearing masks and testing their luck will have either passed away by then, or be sick. So I guess... it should all equal out.

Maybe I've mistaken you for a Trump supporter or apologist. If so, I apologize for that.

But that's what I meant by "you guys."

No one knows who @Os Trigonum supports, he just happens to always take pro-Trump and anti-liberal stances for some random reason.

Disappointing article really short on substance. It is an interesting idea and one I have toyed with.... comparing the current situation Trump is in to the past of Obama and GW Bush.

At this point I do not think they are really all that comparable other than both Bush and Obama faced fairly pedestrian candidates like Trump will face with Biden.

I don't even see the connection. Obama was immensely liked and trusted personally, even if people weren't particularly happy with how things were going. Trump is immensely hated and distrusted, and that was true even 6 months ago when the economy was doing great and people were personally happy. Unlike the article's claim that Obama surprised people by winning, he was the favorite through basically all of 2016 despite his job approval ratings. There was only a short period in October when Obama was negligibly behind by less than 1% in the popular vote, and he still had a strong structural advantage in the EC at the time:

"Will the Coronavirus Economy Hurt Dems' Chances in November?":

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/a...omy_hurt_dems_chances_in_november_143639.html

    excerpt:

To win in November, Democrats need to speak to the economic fears of the American people, because the recession has impacted every community, from big cities to rural areas. Job losses have led some to worry about how they are going to pay their rent and feed their families. And while concerns regarding the coronavirus itself are still valid and important, it's hard to imagine that concern outweighing food and housing insecurities.

Unfortunately, Democrats seem more focused on throwing stones at Trump than promoting real solutions that help get Americans back to work. Democrats in Congress have been spending their time in D.C. passing messaging bills that could effectively help create much-needed jobs, but they are passing these bills knowing that they have no chance in the Senate and therefore won't become law and provide relief to American families. And other prominent Democrats on the state and local level have made decisions that put their economies at risk.
