LOL. "Friends have said I must be the most innocent and honest person alive"... (1) trump was impeached for abuse of power and obstruction of congress, only the third president to have been impeached (2) a republican-led senate committee found ties between trump and russia (3) we will still see if trump is convicted of other crimes, once he is no longer protected as president. G.O.P.-Led Senate Panel Details Ties Between 2016 Trump Campaign and Russia A nearly 1,000-page report confirmed the special counsel’s findings at a moment when President Trump’s allies have sought to undermine that inquiry. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/18/us/politics/senate-intelligence-russian-interference-report.html
Considering this was a bipartisan investigation led by Republicans, it's really disconcerting this isn't a bigger story. I think the problem is that it has too many words and it's not easy to follow for many Trump supporters to understand.
The timing of it's release also pushed it to the back pages as it was released while the conventions were going, there were major protests going on, and also Hurricane Laura and wild fires. Also the fact that it's coming after the Mueller Report and Impeachment which had covered a lot of the same ground took away much of it's significance. I agree that this is serious and it shows that many of the Congressional Republicans know that Trump is compromised even as they continue to back Him.
The Republican senate also understood there was overwhelming evidence that the quid pro quo discussion with Ukraine took place and changed their strategy to argue it didn't rise to the level of impeachment. All of this stuff is documented and isn't fake news yet his supporters don't care.
At the end of the day, they (Republican Senators) made a decision to protect Trump at all costs believing that the long term fall out would not be as substantial as the short term gain. The reality is had the Senate turned on Trump, there would have been short term costs in terms of losing his supporters, and also long term consequences of having a President with an (R) next to his name removed from office. I understand that as politicians they are concerned with whatever will push their agenda the strongest and also their self interest. The problem I have is that they lied knowingly compromising the possible long term health of the system and checks and balances (and ultimately the USA) for their own self interest. While I do not like the term "patriot" because I do not think it really fits the modern world, they are the exact opposite of patriots...... and yet they were questioning the loyalties of other Americans. It is also easy for Democrats like Pelosi or Biden to question the President and take a tough line against him. It lines up with their political motives and likely will be viewed as the right position long term. What isn't as easy, and I think should be acknowledged are the Republicans and government officials that pointed out what the President was doing was not proper, and have been marginalized politically and lost their jobs and careers as a result.
Bombshell report out this morning. Wow. A member of Biden's inner circle from Biden's time as VP claims that Biden's mental acuity has significantly diminished. He doesn't have the energy, doesn't have the same pace of speaking. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/joe-biden-stenographer-mental-acuity-public-speaking-white-house
You believe him when he says something that advances your narrative, but you don't believe the many former Trump associates when they offer something negative about Trump?

Of course Joe Biden doesn't have the same energy or pace of speaking, he isn't 66 years old anymore, he will be 78 when he enters the White House to serve his four year term. The problem is that the man making the claim was not in the inner circle of Biden, he was a stenographer that is selling a book.... where he gives a portion of all book sales to "Blue Lives Matter" and he is a Trump supporter (since 2016) that lost his job. He also calls "Trump the best President of my lifetime". So essentially, a bitter man that lost his job, supports Donald Trump and is a strong military/police supporter writes a book about Joe Biden, that comes out around the election....... and we are to believe his opinion has some validity. I think you should follow the advice of a wise man..... "Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard, solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think." --Martin Luther King, Jr. Work on your critical thinking.
not the Asian American voters. in the early to mid 1990s, when Bill Clinton was POTUS, ~60% of Asian American vote Republican, at the time,a party of fiscal / cultural conservatism. in 2016, 25 yrs later, when his wife was running for POTUS, Asian Americans' party affiliation has flipped to 60% voting Dem, attributable to GOP's anti-immigrant politics---placating/catering to white grievance---as well as GOP's wanton spending w the racist Trump in the WH, this political trend has accelerated more so https://www.vox.com/policy-and-poli...can-voters-immigration-democrats-donald-trump
Amazing... almost 200,000 Americans dead, yet he touts his response, throws in a bit of racism, and preps for having to spend more money of his campaign (more than the $100M parscale already spent)...
You'd like to think that ol' bigtex might have checked that out first before quoting a f***ing stenographer as if he were someone on the inside...especially one that isn't an outwardly loud supporter of trumpybear. But then again, it's bigtex so why would we expect anything more than just the basic level of competency.
I put that fool on ignore awhile back. His continued defense of Trump's incompetency was too hard to stomach. Just another troll I didn't find capable of logical thinking.
