Biden rebukes Pelosi https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...sts-he-will-debate-trump-after-pelosi-remarks
Riiigggghhtt.... since you quoted polls, data, or even gave any analysis at all. We all know what you were referencing because every single Right Wing outlet today and some MSM outlets are saying the same thing that is completely obvious.... Which is that "This" as you referenced (Scary looking protests, depicting riots & violence, and the message of LAW AND ORDER) is something that Republicans believe to be working as the central message of the RNC. This is nothing new, and this strategy has been deployed in the same way since Roger Stone first deployed the law & order message for Nixon back in the day. It's the same fear based strategy that the GOP has been using that HAS WORKED in states like Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania in the past. Will it work again.... I really don't think so because the candidate is Joe Biden... not Bernie Sanders or some scary black guy. But who knows. But we all know what you were referencing because it's the same back slapping congratulatory sentiment right wingers have been giving each other in the media the past 48 hours. Here it is directly from the White House lead propaganda minister herself: https://www.businessinsider.com/kel...violence-is-good-for-trumps-reelection-2020-8 Depictions of rioting and race wars are what Republicans want as politically advantageous to hold onto and gain power. This isn't some wild out of left field thought Texx. From Timothy McVeigh to KellyAnn Conway, you guys all believe the same thing, and are pretty open about it. Some don't go as far as blowing up a building to get that message out, but the political aspirations are the same.
r/rockets •Posted by u/zabercia 3 hours ago [Jenny Dial] The #Rockets and Harris County just announced that Toyota Center will serve as a Vote Center for the 2020 Election. It will be open to any registered voter in Harris County from Oct. 13-30 and on Nov. 3. Hours of operation will run seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. twitter.com/jennyd...
If Tillman and the Rockets do this and create a real infrastructure for turning out Harris county for the election I will forgive Tillman for (some) of the hostile things I've said about him. It doesn't erase the horrible history he has, but it helps. I credit Westbrook, MDA, and Morey who likely had a huge hand in forcing Tillman to do something to help in our city which has been pathetically represented in the past.
Note the word divided implies there are two sides. You latching on to blaming only one side illustrates my point. This post lacks a critical look at the other side or even acknowledges that both sides are at fault. I'm not sure if it's because you're incapable or unwilling. Regardless, it's the same response that's retreaded over and over, so it falls deaf on my ears. It looks like you conceded that the economy was doing fine pre-Covid. I'd be curious about some examples of how the two sides worked together to try to solve Covid. Maybe we can agree that there aren't very many examples available because the two sides did not work together. And in that case both parties are to blame. By the way....what was the Dem's response? Today, Joe would make it mandatory masks be worn even while your outdoors mowing the south 40. And lockdown until a 'cure' is found. Whatever it takes per Joe Biden. His handler's words not mine. Here's what Trump is currently doing. I'm not sure what any Democrat is doing. They are busy working on something but it's not the Virus. It's election time and any good news on the Covid front is bad news for the Dems. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing...liver-safe-effective-vaccine-american-people/ I'm sure you'll disagree with the approach taken in the link. How could you not?
I do agree he fell short in leadership. What's not clear is if someone else's response would've been better or worse. But it's fair to say he could've/should've done better. I'm pretty sure we'd be criticizing anyone in that position regardless of who it is.
Pure projection yet again from dobro. I'm here trying to teach you how to think. I'm doing you a favor. You need to learn to get outside your echo chamber, and not project false narratives on others. I haven't watched Foxnews or visited any political websites in probably two weeks. I saw polling data, and made a comment. You made a "logic leap" and tried to erroneously connect dots in your head. Read the book "Thinking, Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman (sp?). You're demonstrating lazy thinking.
Well we can't see an alternate reality so we don't know for sure. My personal opinion is if we had a different President I don't think things would be radically different given the Federal structure and also that as Americans we simply don't have the patience or will to deal with something like this. That said we know what happened under President Trump and while it's not a complete failure he has done a bad job and continues to do a bad job.
Ahh, deflect deflect deflect. I focused on and blamed one side because that is currently who is in charge. I heard a lot of whining against the previous administration that "Obama didn't even try to work with the Republicans." But just as you pointed out, maybe the Republicans weren't even trying to work with Obama. But again, let me reiterate that I don't give a **** about political parties. If Obama, Biden, or any other Democrat would have reacted the way Trump did, I would be calling them out as well. We should collectively be holding elected officials accountable. The fact is that Trump SAT on Covid for SEVERAL MONTHS, and didn't do anything productive. In fact, he MADE THINGS WORSE by minimizing its impact. There are repeated timelines here, with accompanying quotes from the President, that PROVE this out. These are quotes and timestamps, this is reality. Your link is dated August 11th. It speaks NOTHING to the initial inactivity, MONTHS wasted. So your link does not paint the entire picture, and nor should it. It is used to paint the prettiest picture that one side can. I don't find biased resources to be all that helpful. But it does provide you with something you latch onto to make yourself feel better, and it helps right the previous wrongs of playing a lot of golf and campaigning in a time where thousands of Americans were dying. It is also comical to think that this administration would work with Dems, because they can't even work with their own health and disease experts. So play the hypothetical what-ifs all day, it's an exercise in futility. Why? Because there is absolutely no way to answer it. So one side uses this as a scare tactic to continue getting support. "Yes everybody, we really **** the bed, but just imagine how bigger the dump would have been if the boogey monster took that ****." Things must be pretty bad if that is what the talking points have devolved to.
This is a lengthy article, by Vincent Greenwood, Ph.D., Executive Director, Washington Center For Cognitive Therapy I'll get to the score. The PCL-R should only be administered by a qualified and trained professional. Administration is a two part process of analyzing life history data and conducting a semi-structured interview, after which the rater provides a score of 0, 1, or 2 for each of the 20 items (0= trait definitely not present; 1= information not available or there is some data to support the trait, but it is not overwhelming; and 2= trait definitely present). Here are my ratings for the 45th President of The United States: Glibness/superficial charm — 2 Egocentricity/grandiose sense of self-worth — 2 Proneness to boredom/need for stimulation — 2 Pathological lying and deception/gaslighting — 2 Conning/lack of sincerity — 2 Lack of remorse or guilt — 2 Shallow affect — 2 Callous/lack of empathy — 2 Parasitic lifestyle — 0 Poor behavioral controls — 2 Promiscuous sexual behavior — 2 Early behavior problems — 1 Lack of realistic long-term goals — 0 Impulsivity — 2 Irresponsibility — 2 Failure to accept responsibility for own actions — 2 Many short-term marital relationships — 2 Juvenile delinquency — 1 Revocation of conditional release — 0 . 20. Criminal versatility — 2 Total = 32 Thirty-two (32) is a serious number for this instrument. Thirty-two means you are a 1%. Recall that the mean number for male prisoners is 22(!). So, yeah, 32 is substantial. In law enforcement vernacular, an individual with this score would be termed a “stone-cold psychopath.
Trump makes no pretense about working together. His openly insults anyone who disagrees with him and is not in the least bit interested in working with anyone. No, he demands fealty from his party, from governors, and he demands surrender from democrats. I’ll say it again, he does not even pretend to want to work with anyone. He believes he is the emperor and he can do whatever he wants. Those are the facts and any statement to the contrary is utterly false. So get the ever living eff out of here with complaints about two sides not working together. The president you support makes Impossible for there to be cooperation. It is not an accident. He is an ******* on purpose. He enjoys being a dick. And you people love it. Support it. Adore him for it, with any other president in the history of this country, an analysis of why both sides have a role in the lack of cooperation would be valid. With trump, it is not. The divide is his doing and it is intentional.
What’s the over and under of this thing having 98% white people, but with a black person sitting in the front row?
