Your words to that him are falling on blind eyes and deaf ears. Trump is good for his tax cuts. Nothing else matters. That's the only explanation I can come up with anyway.

So he claims. I know that everyone that supports Trump thinks they are getting something out of his presidency (money & power mostly). However the culture war they think is happening is still a primary driver, and Texx pretty much lays that out in a simple one sentence post. He believes that Race Wars are good politics for the Trumplican party to gain power.... pretty much exactly the same sentiment as Timothy McVeigh had 20 years ago that has continued to carry that motivation in the organized American Right.

That's a real convenient excuse. It is never Trump or the Republican's fault, is it? I mean, it's not fathomable that they should share in at least some of the blame to his staunch supporters that continue to turn a blind eye to reality, and eat up lie after lie.

And your weak and lazy excuse even criticizes the President, but you have dug in so deep, you can't even see it. Why is/was there a "divided effort to tackle [Covid]"? Who was leadership, that was supposed to GUIDE and LEAD a country in a time of need? Who, then, instead of clearly articulating how serious of an issue this was, and that we could all be responsible for slowing down the exponential spread by simply being considerate citizens, decided to COMPLETELY disregard it, say it was going to go away magically, and refused to wear a mask MONTHS into the global pandemic?

I know how this story goes, we've seen it on repeat for the past 6 months. This is where your rebuttal is "but but but Cuomo!" We can certainly learn from those mistakes, and it is a good thing that his actions actually show that he learned from them, as they then did a good job combating the disease. But even then, he is not the POTUS. Oh, and then this rebuttal is always entertaining, "I read a report once that said a GAZILLION Americans were going to die, so that that we are ONLY at 180K American deaths (another 1,000 plus just yesterday) shows what a damn genius Trump is! Yay for success!!

So justify it all you want, but I genuinely believe that criticism/disappointment/wanting to do better is warranted, regardless of political party. If I voted for somebody 4 years ago, and the incompetent response to Covid transpired from someone from "my team," I sure as hell wouldn't vote for the same person again. They wouldn't deserve my vote, again regardless of political party.

It is easy to play President when you take over an economy trending up. I think damn near all of us on this board could have played President for 4 years and kept the status quo. It is much more nuanced and magnified when you have to actually LEAD the greatest country on the planet in a time of need and a global pandemic. Pro-tip; don't ask your son-in-law to be on the committee to handle the global pandemic.

I agree. We have a federal system and as such the states do wield a lot of power.. The President though as the head of the country can use the power of the Federal government to coordinate between the states and set national strategy. Also can use the bully pulpit of the Presidency to advocate for nationwide practices and polices.

Trump has failed on those regards with contradictory statements and unclear policies. In addition to policies that have put the Federal government at odds with the states. He has used the bully pulpit to insult governors and other political opponents and to push questionable cures or make head scratching statements like asking his advisors if there is way to inject bleach..

Worst of all though he frequently claims unlimited power while not taking any responsibility.

All you took away from my post was that "I want a race war"? Absolutely ridiculous. All I did was look at the polls.

This is a perfect example of the low information voter in today's society. People like dobro live their lives in their echo chamber, gobbling it up like it's truth, but what they don't realize is that they're being fed a narrative the media wants them to believe, so that they continue watching their channel.

I don't want a race war. Far from it. I hope you learn from this post, dobro. You could use the help.

My office has received a recording of a robocall targeting Detroit voters using racially-charged stereotypes and false information to deter voting by mail. It is an unconscionable, indefensible, blatant attempt to lie to citizens about their right to vote.

The trolls will defend their leader no matter how incompetent and irresponsible he is.

May I add, dumb as a rock.

They are. My personal favorite are cheese curds with a little jalapeno on the inside. Plus they have cheese curd festivals across the border that are fantastic. You get plenty of cheese curds in here in Minnesota too but they really don't compare to Wisconsin. You can get cheese curds straight from the dairy farms in Western Wisconsin.

A sad consequence of Covid-19 has been the cancellation of cheese curd and dairy festivals. :(

I have to admit, when I visited Wisconsin years ago to ski on the baby slopes those cheese curds were my favorite treat at the bar with an ice cold draft.
