If we get Bauer... that’s almost guarantees Cole isn't coming back.

Not like he was anyway. Astros aren’t going to pony up 35 million a year for 6 years

Astros are not trading Tucker. They are already thinking about 2021, where they could lose Brantley and Reddick.

A reference to Rockets GM Darryl Morey. Some of the idiots here call him Murray because some other idiots did it to be funny.

Their best pitching prospect sucks. Even without this year, it looks like a good move for the Mets. Not sure what the other 28 teams and Toronto are doing. Can Mets turn around and trade Stroman?

Lol just because they were their two “best” doesn’t mean they are great prospects

Neither are top 100 prospects, neither having particularly great seasons

This was a tremendous deal for the Mets

Except for the fact that he’s not really very good, and the best thing he does (get grounders) is the worst thing they do (turn grounders into outs) and they are a dead team walking sure, good job good effort by the Mets.

We shall see. I’m not holding my breath.

    Ok cool

I don’t want to turn this into one of your pissing contests so I’ll just say cool, Stroman and his sub 3 era sucks and the Mets are dumb for hoarding quality pitching

So the Mets now have 4 starters that the rest of MLB seem to want... Seems like they could just build a baseball team.

Pretty good example of why sellers having to sell is what helps dictate the market, and keeps it from getting too costly.

Sellers don't gain leverage just because a team like the Yankees or Astros have a slightly higher need for starting pitching (if you can even call it that...)

Also, there really isn't a lot of pitching talent available right now either that's being reported. This could obviously change as teams may decide to sell.

And... Let's not rule out the possibility of an idiot or two who actually thinks his name is Murray... Kind of like the people who used to complain about coach Gundy back in the day... Or praise Comet's coach VanChancellor...

Yep. Sellers don't gain leverage over fair value unless a team gets desperate and dumb. Astros and Yankees aren't desperate and dumb.
