    So is no action!

Hurricane Florence to cost Carolina's 50 billion
Not including the seasonal damage to the huge agri industry

    Only a year after

    Hurricane Harvey cost $135 billion
    Hurricane Maria cost $120 billion
    Hurricane Irma cost $84 billion

Not bad for a year's worth of work!

Which is why I specifically said -- in the sentence you quoted no less -- that we do have to take action.

Can you imagine the liability that'd result? Everybody with any weather-related misfortune would want to sue you. Ironic.

This has already been dismissed as practical as it would have unintended consequences in parts of the worlds. Droughts in some countries and hurricanes in others. In other worlds, you'd have different countries fighting over what the right approach is and you'd get into a climate tit for tat where countries would just do what was in it's self interest at the expense of other nations.

One thing we have learned about humans - they don't want to sacrifice. And that's why I know climate change will happen and it will happen hard and in a devastating way - and nothing will stop it because human nature won't allow it to stop.

    Lomborg's essay this week:

"The truth about climate change is nuanced: it is real, and in the long term it will be a problem, but its impact is less than we might believe. And yet we are too eager to believe the problem is far worse than science shows, and – conversely – that our solutions are far easier than reality dictates."
