Ya was actually trying to remember myself. Remember doing some reading up when we drafted him since I had never heard of the guy. As "off" as these reports can be, some were unfortunately pretty spot on.

He’s about to sky rocket up draft boards. Starting to see him at the end of 1st round mocks.. top 20 on the way

Another OT option in the 1st. Ferguson is a fringe 1st round guy and Allen is a 2nd/3rd type guy I believe. Buried them

Apparently Devlin is the only one who didn't realize Davenport struggled at the Sr. Bowl

To be fair, pretty much every evaluation said he was a project and needed a few seasons to be ready. Unfortunately our front office bungled our OL so horribly that we had to start him week 2 in his rookie year.

Right. I think they all assumed Duane Brown would end his hold out and Davenport would be a backup and have time to develop.

Just curious about everyone else's opinion. Why was Mancz not starting somewhere? I felt he was better than Martin at center because he was better able to move the line of scrimmage. Both were about even in pass protection. Mancz also seemed serviceable when filling in as guard. Is it because of bias since he went undrafted? Or maybe I just suck at accessing OL talent :)

    Heeeey!

I've been saying this since 2017. Maybe even earlier. In his one year starting, he was a better center than Martin has been. I don't think Mancz has been as good at guard though. Before signing Fulton and Kelemente, I would have moved Martin to guard and started Mancz at center.

Agreed, but his feet aren't doing to move any faster

Why would that matter if one is a project OL from a small school and the other is an all-conference DL from UT?

I hope not...how many more false starts do you want him to get?

Interior DL is an underrated need of ours. Covington, Dunn and Blackson are all FA’s and we could use an upgrade over these guys regardless. Watkins hasn’t been able to get on the field. Could use one of our 2nd or 3rd round picks to upgrade there. Demarcus Christmas, Kingsley Keke and Daylon Mack fit the mold. Hopefully we’ll bring back Covington. Dunn may be hard to resign with how well he has played.

Watkins hasn't been on the field because he is behind Reader and they really love Dunn. I think Watkins will be fine.

That's pretty impressive. I believe Zach Allen is a borderline late 1st / early 2nd round type of DE.

This helps get a good read on how active the feet and hands are against opposing linemen, but the good thing about game action is it shows how high the offensive linemen's football IQ is when blitzes are being thrown at you as well as how adept they are to reacting to play changes at the line.

The point was that most years there is a surprising physical measurement or two like this and people fixate on it.

It's relevant, but only as one datapoinr in a much larger picture.

Also, to point out that 36.5" arms are long, but not exactly so unique as to warrant a new species of man or whatever the hyperbole there was.

Well Daniel Jones probably just ruined any chance of him being picked in the 1st round. Really pissed Gruden off today.
