I gues you're against building a young strong talented OL. I dont like the two safeties Love the Weber and Fields picks. What would you like to see? I would love to see your mock.
Todd McShay mock threepointO 1. Arizona Cardinals Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma 2. San Francisco 49ers Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State 3. New York Jets Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama 4. Oakland Raiders Josh Allen, OLB, Kentucky 5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Montez Sweat, DE, Mississippi State 6. New York Giants Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State 7. Jacksonville Jaguars Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida 8. Detroit Lions Rashan Gary, DE, Michigan 9. Buffalo Bills D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss 10. Denver Broncos Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama 11. Cincinnati Bengals Devin White, ILB, LSU 12. Green Bay Packers T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa 13. Miami Dolphins Drew Lock, QB, Missouri 14. Atlanta Falcons Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson 15. Washington Redskins Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma 16. Carolina Panthers Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson 17. Cleveland Browns Andre Dillard, OT, Washington State 18. Minnesota Vikings Ed Oliver, DT, Houston 19. Tennessee Titans Garrett Bradbury, C, NC State 20. Pittsburgh Steelers Devin Bush, ILB, Michigan 21. Seattle Seahawks Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State 22. Baltimore Ravens Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama 23. Houston Texans Cody Ford, OT, Oklahoma The secondary is going to have some holes, and I do like the idea of Dexter Lawrence plugging the middle of Romeo Crennel's 3-4 defense. But the Texans allowed 62 sacks last season, the league high by six. Full stop. Ford is a big mauler who would help keep franchise QB Deshaun Watson off his back, and he could play tackle or guard. 24. Oakland Raiders (from Chicago Bears) Byron Murphy, CB, Washington 25. Philadelphia Eagles Rock Ya-Sin, CB, Temple 26. Indianapolis Colts Taylor Rapp, S, Washington 27. Oakland Raiders (from Dallas Cowboys) Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State 28. Los Angeles Chargers Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson 29. Kansas City Chiefs Deandre Baker, CB, Georgia 30. Green Bay Packers (from New Orleans Saints) Brian Burns, DE, Florida State 31. Los Angeles Rams Noah Fant, TE, Iowa 32. New England Patriots Irv Smith Jr., TE, Alabama
"What a stock boost for Amani Oruwariye. The nearly 6-foot-2, 205-pound corner ran 4.47, jumped 36.5 inches and had a 6.82 3-cone despite being 15 pounds bigger than the average Combine corner. In a weak cornerback class, he helped himself a ton.' Keep this one for the late rounds
You have to remember, whether they pick him or not 1st overall, they're going to hype him in case someone wants to move up.
Not at all. I've maintained from the start that 2 of our first 3 picks should be spent on the OL. But looking at the CB FA market, it would be an absolute fail if Gaines waited until the 5th to get their one and only CB. I'd prefer them spend their first rounder on the best OT prospect available but this particular mock would be a lot more tolerable if they got a top CB in the 1st instead of an interior lineman IMO. As far as my mock: 1st Round: Any of OL Dillard, Williams, or Ford (whoever is available). If all gone, then I'd go CB Byron Murphy. 2nd Round: Any combination of OL Little/McGary or CB Ya-Sin/Love. Whatever combination that gets us 2 OL and a CB with our first 3 picks. 3rd Round: RB David Montgomery or Benny Snell Two other guys I really like but not sure where they fit in are Dalton Risner and Charles Omenihu. Risner in the first might be a reach and doubtful he lasts until our 2nd rounders. I like Omenihu against the run, length and motor in case things go south with Clowney. If we somehow got a guy like Trent Brown in FA, I'd be fine with drafting 1 OL, 1 CB and Omenihu with our first 3 picks.
[Premium Post] This is where I'm at as well - 2 OL and 1 CB in the first three picks. We are set at QB, WR, and RB (I'm high on Foreman). We have a good DL, a decent LB corps, and good safeties. O-line selections provide long term value through the draft and a good O-line makes the skill position players much better. With the exception of Duane Brown, it's highly unlikely to get a knucklehead/malcontent o-lineman. They exist to help others! Invest in the O-line! GOOD DAY
Could definitely see the Bills jumping on the D.K. Metcalf hype train after his combine performance... after all they did draft Sammy Watkins top 4 in the Clowney and Mack draft. I wouldn't be mad at Cody Ford being selected with our first. These mocks have had extremely wild variances in the top O-Linemen and their predicted rankings. I don't know if Jawaan Taylor, Jonah Williams, and Cody Ford will go top 15 or bottom 15. Same goes with the CB class.... Greedy Williams was a top 10 pick a little as 3 weeks ago and now he's completely fallen out of the first round even while running a solid 4.3 - 40 at the combine. While Baker and Murphy have stayed steady, while running in the 4.5s each. Just odd.
First rounders (and most second rounders) are usually starters. I don't think the coaching staff thinks we need two new starters on the OL. Most of us disagree. One of Henderson and Davenport will be battling for their jobs. Not likely both will. Again I disagree. They brought in three guards (two FA and 1 draft) just last year. I don't think they're giving up on them yet. And by the day of the draft, we'll know what other free agents they've brought in. I think they look at 1 OL, 1 CB, and 1 wild card (edge rusher, RB, extra CB, TE, DL) with the first three picks. Or they use one of the picks to trade up.
Yeah but the FAs they brought in almost got Watson killed. They are what they will be. They need to draft as many OL as possible.
I don't disagree. But I don't think the Texans agree. You can only have so many offensive linemen on the active roster; they're not helping you in special teams. Both Fulton and Kelemete played through some injuries, you can convince yourself that they are better than what you saw last season. Plus the biggest problems were with the tackles, not necessarily the guards. It might be a good time to bring up what I've been saying for a while now: they need a new O-line coach.
23. Texans McClain: Greg Little, OT, Mississippi Wilson: Cody Ford, OT, Oklahoma Second round 54. Texans McClain: Jamel Dean, CB, Auburn Wilson: Trayvon Mullen, CB, Clemson 55. Texans McClain: Isaiah Johnson, CB, Houston Wilson: Dalton Risner, OT, Kansas State
As some one who wants two CBs, I'd be happy with this. Hopefully Jamel Dean in the late round. Seen him all over the board though.
