Not much speed with this crop of CBs this year. I'm not sure I'd want to invest a 1st rounder in one of them. I would trade up to get Andre Dillard

Just for fun, depending what they do with FA.. Would you guys give up both 2nd rounders if it meant Dillard and Greedy?

Yes for Dillard. Not sure about Greedy. I can see taking Dillard in the first and if Greedy falls into the 2nd (likely), trading a 2nd and a 3rd to get him.

I can also see them doing the opposite. Trading down from one of their 2nd rounders.

INDIANAPOLIS — Here are five risers, fallers and sleepers after combine drills and interviews over the past five days:

Risers

Montez Sweat, edge rusher, 6-6, 260, Mississippi State

After putting together an impressive Senior Bowl, he blew away scouts with his 4.41 speed and athleticism. He can play end in a 4-3 or outside linebacker in a 3-4.

Quinnen Williams, DT, 6-3, 303, Alabama

A classic 4-3 tackle whose 4.83 speed got everyone’s attention. He’s quick, strong, agile and maintains balance. He should have solidified himself as a top-three pick.

D.K. Metcalf, WR, 6-3, 228, Mississippi

An athletic freak with outstanding size and 4.33 speed. He benched 225 pounds 27 times, which was more than a lot of linemen. His vertical was 40½. Should be the first receiver drafted.

Noah Fant, TE, 6-4, 249, Iowa

Projected as a low first-round pick behind teammate T.J. Hockenson, also a tight end, entering the draft. He ran crisp routes, showed soft hands and impressed with his 4.50 speed and athleticism.

Devin Bush, LB, 5-11, 234, Michigan

After his combine performance, he should be a first-round pick. Incredible athlete who ran a 4.43, had a 40½-inch vertical and benched 21 times. A three-down player who’ll excel sideline to sideline.

Fallers

Jachai Polite, EDGE, 6-3, 258, Florida

Ran a 4.84 40 and pulled up with a hamstring injury. Some scouts said he wasn’t impressive in his interviews. He’ll need a lot of improving before the Gators’ pro day to stay in the first round.

Elijah Holyfield, RB, 5-10, 217, Georgia

After running a 4.78 40-yard dash, he’ll need to get a lot faster at his pro day. He was strong (27 reps), but only one back ran a slower time.

Greg Little, OT, 6-5, 310, Mississippi

He may have fallen out of the first round, but he can rebound at his pro day. His 5.33 time was slow. His 25-inch vertical was bad. He didn’t do the bench press.

Nate Herbig, G, 6-3, 335, Stanford

He’s a mauler who doesn’t have a lot of quickness and speed. His time in the 40 was 5.41.

Lil’Jordan Humphrey, WR, 6-4, 210, Texas

He was one of the slowest receivers with a 4.75 40. A lot of tight ends ran faster. Some scouts don’t like the way he uses his body to make catches.

Sleepers

Zedrick Woods, S, 5-11, 205, Mississippi

The fastest player at the combine ran a 4.29 40-yard dash. Going into the combine, he was considered a low pick or an undrafted free agent. That kind of speed might have made him some money.

Jamel Dean, CB, 6-1, 205, Auburn

He came out of nowhere and could be shooting up the rankings. Ran a 4.30 40 and had 17 reps on the bench press, impressive for a cornerback. His performance may have catapulted him into the second round.

Isaiah Johnson, CB, 6-2, 208, Houston

Not many cornerbacks have Johnson’s combination of size and speed. He’s now on every scout’s radar because no team can have enough corners. Only three corners ran faster than Johnson.

Maxx Crosby, DE, 6-5, 255, Eastern Michigan

Showed scouts how well he moves with a 4.66 40 and a 6.89 3-cone still. Had a 36-inch vertical. Could play outside linebacker in a 3-4.

Ryquell Armstead, RB, 5-11, 220, Temple

Good size and strength (22 reps on bench press) to go with 4.45 speed. Has good hands and lots of power.

The Pick: Andre Dillard, OT, Washington State

The Houston Texans may go forward with Julie'n Davenport and Seantrel Henderson at offensive tackle, but that isn't the best plan to protect quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Washington State's Andre Dillard is an athletic masterpiece in the passing game. There are concerns about his power play in the run game—mostly thanks to his coaching at Washington State—but he has all of the tools and athleticism to get better when asked to move defenders in the run.

Brugler: NFL Scouting Combine Friday wrapup: Bradbury, Dillard dominate OL workouts

Extensive tape study will always be the backbone of a player’s scouting report, but there is tremendous value in the on-field drills at the scouting combine. The opportunity to break down a player’s movement skills (and how he takes direction) in person is an important step in the evaluation process. I spent Friday morning in the stands at Lucas Oil Stadium watching the big boys run around and perform both position-specific and nonfootball drills. Most players looked as expected, although several looked better while others disappointed. Let me reinforce that this is just a step (not a defining step) in the process.

Garrett Bradbury, OC, NC State (Height: 6-2 7/8, Weight: 306, Arms: 31 3/4)
Bradbury entered the combine as the No. 1 interior offensive line prospect in the 2019 NFL Draft and he leaves with the same distinction. The better question is just how high will the former tight end be drafted? A day after pumping 34 reps on the bench press, Bradbury ran one the fastest 40-yard dashes (4.92) among the offensive linemen, but more important, he was terrific in the positional drills. In the mirror drills, Bradbury showed off his effortless lateral range, keeping his eyes level and hands in an elevated punch position. There was zero labor in his movements. In the "wave" drill, which helps show a player’s change of direction skills, Bradbury looked clean with his lower body fluidity and core flexibility in motion. He also was impressive in the vertical jump (31 inches), surpassing the average among starting NFL interior blockers (28 inches). Bradbury was already in the first-round conversation and he only cemented that status Friday. For a zone-heavy offense, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him come off the board in the top-20 picks.

Andre Dillard, OT, Washington (6-5, 315, 33 1/2)
An above-average athlete, there were high expectations for Dillard entering this week, and he either met or exceeded them on Friday. He looked outstanding in pass protection drills – quick pitter-patter feet and easy lower body movements. In the "short-pull power" drill, Dillard’s torso flexibility and loose hips were on display as the pulling lineman – advancing to the second level, engaging the linebacker (another lineman holding a shield) and driving him from the spot. This drill helps evaluate the hips and movement skills of a lineman, but also their overall body balance, requiring them to use their eyes, hands and lower body in unison. And Dillard looked flawless in this drill, achieving his balance and allowing his natural biomechanics do the work. He also crushed the broad jump with a 09’10" jump, which is much better than the average for tackles in the NFL (08’08"). Dillard has the best feet among the offensive linemen in this draft with outstanding lower body flexibility, which could push his draft value in the top half of Round one.

Erik McCoy, OG/C, Texas A&M (6-3 7/8, 303, 33)
I despise using the word "safe" when it comes to NFL prospects, but McCoy comes close to a safe prospect. He might not be explosive on tape, but his initial quickness is outstanding, which was clear on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium on Friday. McCoy looked smooth in pass protection drills on an island, beating rushers to the spot with natural knee bend. In the "wave" drill, he moved well with smooth shuffle-and-drive footwork, and in pulling drills, his hip flexibility and ability to open up really stood out compared to the other participants. I don’t know if McCoy, who ran the fastest 40-yard dash (4.89) among the linemen, will ever make a Pro Bowl in his NFL career, but I think he will be a rock-solid starter on the interior for a long time. He is competing with Mississippi State’s Elgton Jenkins to be the second center off the board.

Jonah Williams, OT/G, Alabama (6-4 1/2, 302, 33 5/8)
Much of the conversation around Williams has been about his lack of ideal length and whether he will play tackle or guard in the NFL. But on Friday, none of that mattered as he had the chance to show off his movements and technique. In the "pass pro rush" drill, Williams flew out of his stance with the quick feet to handle speed. While others were able to do the same, Williams did an excellent job keeping his hands high, tight and in a punch position, which is extremely important. It is great if a blocker has lower body athleticism to shut down the corner, but it doesn’t mean much if the hands are late to cut off rush speed. That wasn’t a problem for Williams who was always in a "ready" position. Williams doesn’t look like the prototypical left tackle, but that shouldn’t matter. Based on his tape and combine performance, teams shouldn’t hesitate if they have a need at tackle. Williams has the movements (feet, knees, hips) and muscle memory with his technically sound approach that project him as an NFL starter.

Other quick hits:

Chris Lindstrom, OG, Boston College (6-3 3/4, 308, 34 1/8)
– Lindstrom ran the second-fastest 40-yard dash (4.91) among the linemen and his agility was on full display during position drills. He doesn’t labor when unlocking his hips to adjust in space, showing why he could be a top-40 prospect in April.

Elgton Jenkins, OG/C, Mississippi State (6-4 1/2, 310, 34)
– Jenkins looked a tad heavy in the movement drills, but in the closed quarter action like "short pull" drill, that is where he looked most comfortable. His impressive lower body power and leg drive were on full display.

Kaleb McGary, OT, Washington (6-7 1/8, 317, 32 7/8)
– McGary was up and down during his drills. He has nimble feet and moves well, but his pass sets are tall and narrow, which was clear in the kickslide drills. McGary can bend, but he needs to do it more consistently in his initial sets to cut off speed.

Dru Samia, OG, Oklahoma (6-4 3/4, 305, 33)
– What I love about offensive line workouts at the clombine is the ability to evaluate blocker’s hips. And Samia’s ability to open up his hips and use power were impressive during drills. He stays balanced in his lateral movements.

Bobby Evans, OT/G, Oklahoma (6-4 3/8, 312, 34 3/4)
– While Samia and Cody Ford looked strong among the Oklahoma offensive linemen, Evans wasn’t nearly as clean in his movements, appearing tight in his lower body. His upper and lower body seemed to be on different pages as well.

Yodny Cajuste, OT, West Virginia (6-4 7/8, 312, 34)
– Cajuste was limited on Friday and didn’t perform a full workout, but he was unimpressive in the drills he did do, appearing off-balance and wild. In several ways, that matches the tape and why he could still be available on Day Three of the draft in April.

Hjalte Froholdt, OG, Arkansas (6-4 5/8, 306, 31 1/4)
– An offensive lineman I would be targeting on Day Three of the NFL Draft, Froholdt is clearly still connecting the dots, but his movement skills and redirection are terrific. He is a talented blocker worth stashing and developing on the depth chart.

Tyler Jones, OG, NC State (6-3, 306, 33 3/4)
– One of my favorite "sleepers" in this draft class, Jones played left tackle for the Wolfpack, but his skill-set projects best at guard. He labored some in his redirection, but his lateral quickness and lower body bend were clean.

T.J. Hockenson - TE

School: Iowa | Year: Sophomore (RS)
The Texans need to do a better job of protecting Deshaun Watson. Hockenson will help improve the run game and he'll provide some easy completions for the QB.

The Texans aren't passing on Cody Ford for a TE. We got 2 pretty good ones last year.

OT & CB are the obvious biggest needs but if TJ Hockenson falls to us I wouldn’t be shocked if we take him. A top 10 player in the draft that would surely be the BPA. We may be able to learn a lot about Brian Gaine in this draft.

I said it first, Daniel. With Gaine’s obsession with Seantrel Henderson I’m really expecting us to go BPA in the 1st. Ideally that would be an OT or CB that falls to us but I wouldn’t rule out Hockenson, an interior DL like Wilkins or Oliver or even a WR or S.Then we would need to address OL & CB in rounds 2 & 3

ROUND 1, PICK NO. 23: ERIK MCCOY, IOL, TEXAS A&M
We have yet to enter into free agency, so perhaps the emphasis on this might change a little bit, but right now the Houston Texans need to center their entire draft strategy around fixing their offensive line. Injuries aside, their line play was not good enough in 2018, especially considering this needs to be the time they are developing Deshaun Watson as their young franchise quarterback.

McCoy had a great Senior Bowl week that put him on the map. He followed that up with one of the best combine performances for an interior offensive lineman. He definitely has a chance to sneak into the first round, especially to a needy team like the Texans.

ROUND 2, PICK NO. 54: YODNY CAJUSTE, OT, WVU
It’s not just on the interior where the Texans need to get better along the offensive line; the tackle play certainly could use a boost as well. Cajuste didn’t do much at the Combine, but he is a powerful offensive lineman who can play left tackle as his natural position.

ROUND 2, PICK NO. 55: KALEB MCGARY, OT, WASHINGTON
You think I’d pass up on a third offensive lineman with a good ceiling for the Texans if I had the chance? No way. That should tell you how much I think offensive line is a need for Houston.

As we all know, injuries happen, and you need guys to be able to come in and do their role to a level of competence. McGary, where he has some work to do as an offensive tackle, could be a potential starter earlier on or a great fill-in player in the meantime.

ROUND 3, PICK NO. 66: AMANI HOOKER, S, IOWA
The Texans might be looking for more than one starting defensive back in the upcoming draft, if they were to lose out on Tyrann Mathieu in free agency. If they do, drafting a player like Hooker to go into their deep safety rotation could play to their advantage. Hooker had a great Combine weekend with well above average athletic numbers in nearly every category. His tape also shows a good understanding of zone coverage roles.

ROUND 5, PICK NO. 161: MARK FIELDS, CB, CLEMSON
Another player who made some money for himself on Combine weekend was Clemson cornerback Mark Fields. Fields doesn’t get the notoriety that his teammate Trayvon Mullen does, but after scoring high in both the speed and strength tests at the Combine, he makes sense as a guy you take later in the draft and try to develop.

ROUND 6, PICK NO. 195: MIKE WEBER, RB, OHIO STATE
This running back class had a rough weekend at the Combine, but one player that stood out was Ohio State’s Mike Weber -- no player from the Buckeyes is slow, let’s just make that a universally understood right now.

The Texans already talked about how they are comfortable with their running back room, but Weber is similar stylistically to starter Lamar Miller, that could make him a preferred backup.

ROUND 7, PICK NO. 222: D’COTA DIXON, S, WISCONSIN
When Dixon ran a 4.81 in the 40-yard dash, it confirmed that he’s just not enough of an athlete to be a starter at the next level. But Dixon does so many other things well. He’s a smart player, he’s a determined player, he’s great in the locker room and he’ll give his all with a high motor to play special teams. You need guys like Dixon to build out the back end of your roster.
