I wonder if High A Fayetteville is moving to 3 pitcher tandems. 1st 2 guys were pulled after ~50 pitches.
Well, Javier and Sanabria were both all over the place. Quad Cities' game was called after 7 innings, so they get a 9-2 win to start the year.
Ronnie Dawson just made his 2nd catch that has made the announcers all excited (one coming in and laying out, 1 while crashing into the RCF wall)..."putting on a show in CF" is how they just described his night.
Dawson’s transformation over the last 12 months is something I haven’t seen in a decade of closely following Houston’s system. A guy comes in with a running back body and is widely considered to be limited to a corner (and below average at that), then all of a sudden turns himself into a DB’s body and looks like a great CF. Kudos to him for putting in the work. Obviously Houston saw something in him that made him worthy of a 2nd round pick and he’s proving them right.
Not sure I'd read too much into it this early. Love Javier & Sanabria's stat line: 4IP, 0H, 6K, 6BB, 2HBP, 100P, 48 strikes
Astros MILB: 29 32 2 Opponents: 4 6 6 Maybe the only damper was that Corpus, Fayetteville, and Quad Cities combined to issue 19 walks. Well, it's only game one, so we should probably let that slide.
Prior to last season I had him pegged as a 4th OF type, now I view him as having a much higher ceiling. But he will have to show a sustained ability to cut down on his strikeouts if he wants to be an everyday player in the majors; that’s still a major question mark for him, despite his improved defensive profile.
1 game knee jerk predictions: Urquidy will be in AAA in 2 months and will be in Houston by September. 4 players will have 50+ SB: Straw, Wrenn, Julks, and Pineda. Adams, Arauz, and Papierski will be in Corpus by July 1. Fayetteville will use 3 men tandems (~50 pitch limits) the first half of the season. Adolph will be a org Top 10 prospect by year end.

It's actually kind of funny. I think a lot of people saw that we drafted an African-American outfielder and just assumed he was the speedy, CF stereotype, despite his resume being nothing of the sort. By accident, they may all end up being right.
In the "payback is a b!tch" department, RR go smoked tonight in New Orleans: 28ABs, 0BB, 17K, Jack Mayfield hit a solo HR in the 9th to break up the no-hitter
You can add Brandon Bailey to the list of interesting starts in '19: 3 no-hit innings, 3 K, 4 BB and a WP
